**The medieval archery re-enactor is proving quite useless.

 

(5/8ths inch or ~18mm 'plating' cut to a standard length.  Follow on experiments may involve an ink wash.)

Aha! I couldn't figure out what was so special about buying plate from a model railroad store and painting it. Makes sense now.

I actually picked some up the other day. Wife was buying wood slats, and we needed to break open a new pack. Remembered this thread, and "cleaned" up for them. I hope they appreciated it. :P
