Yeap, I painted another Frog.  ROFL.

A few words about the Frog Minstrel, Roll up your sleeves when you go to do this one.

This is a really tough frog to work on.  I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this.

I thought it would be straight on... NOPE it isn't.  The choices are phenominal.  Little fiddley bits show up in the

dangest, most difficult of places.  At one point I found it Boring !  How can a frog be boring.  So I resolved that

thinking of our good friend Malefactus.

So Here is the Frog Minstrel on a lily Pad, with his two Conger Eels playing a bagpipe, and a horn!

Yes, I did intend to make you laugh !  I can't stop giggling.

I kept hearing a certain song in my head as I was painting this.

Your comments and critiques are appreciated, and sought after.

Here they are performing:

"I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden in the shade"

Thanks UB3R, robinh, and Xherman;

This has been a bit of a labor of love, and angst..ROFL.

While it is a frog, there was so much to learn !

I finally went for the clown makeup, and the jester spin since I was getting to the

point where I thought it was boring.  I livened it up thinking of Malefactus, and his madcap

approach.  That clown face did the trick for me.  I also wanted to play with the water effects.

That has some challenges to it that I look forward to surmounting !

I had a great time doing this !  Hopefully my funny bone will recover !

DS Frogs are awesome!

And there are so many frogs and toads in nature that can provide inspiration.

Keep 'em coming Jay!

FANTASTICALLY FUNNY! You don't find many tunes written for bagpipes, horn, & tambourine. The white face makeup makes the mini, at least for moi. The Amphibian Minstrel is BEAUTIFULLY painted & IMAGINATIVELY based. OUTSTANDING WORK once more!

Thank You Malefactus !

I was waiting for you to see the clown makeup and just chuckle !

I'll have to check PDQ Bach and see if he has written anything for bagpipes, horn and tambourine !  ROFL.

What a delightfully wacky figure; great job bringing that to life!

ROFL.  Glad you saw the Wacky in there.

Sometimes I take the frogs too seriously, and in this case, he needs to be

a nut job....LOL.

Started this as a PC but the game went nowhere so he sat on my desk for quite some time.  finally got around to finishing him and thought i would share.  He's quite well detailed and has a lot of character I might get another one to try in a different color but that will be another day.  Hope you enjoy him

This is another bogle for Monster Blood Tattoo though it happens to look a lot like an especially large werewolf.

First the sculpt:  Although fur is often difficult to clean the parting line on this one was largely invisible to begin with.

Second the paint:  It lent itself to a simple drybrush, but I've gone for such dark colors it doesn't show up in the photo.

Third the question:  I just glued it to a round base today and can't decide how I should finish the base.  It's going to be used in tabletop skirmish games so it doesn't need anything fancy.  I just can't decide between gluing on sand and little rocks, applying resin sand gel, or using Apoxie Sculpt to build up the circular base to the level of the stock base.  Opinions?  Pros & cons?

Ladless and Gentlemints, I've been kicking this idea around for a while now. And with the current isolation I think it's a great time. I propose a craft paint challenge. I have tons of great miniature paints from various brands, but for the sake of fun lets see what we can do with craft paints. This is my proposal. Grab a random miniature, Bones or otherwise, and ideally whatever craft  paints you have on hand (no going to the store for craft paints, this is to promote social distancing) and see what you can do. This will serve two purposes. It will be a fun way to throw some paint on a miniature, and hopefully we can also show a lot of people that while specialized paints are amazing, you can also get decent results on a budget. If you aren't into miniature painting, and still want to throw some craft paints on canvas or paper or whatever then that would be great as well.

I encourage everyone who feels it to jump in on this. Also what do you think about #craftpaintchallenge for tagging. Please post results on here and other social media. Lets see how much love we can get, and how far this will go.

Official/unofficial start date of 4/11. And lets go. Cheers.
