Yeah, I think you're spot-on with your analysis. I'm not opposed to a simpler game, really, but I do hope this feedback and apparent changes pay off, too.

Also in the same spot with my pledge, RE: nothing to add on for me yet. Though I'd do the elementals, under different circumstances.

This game feels more and more like it's being cobbled together. They billed it as a dungeon crawler, but it seems like it was designed to be a fantasy monster enemy version of Z:BP. From what I've seen, the fans picked up on that and asked for an actual dungeon crawler game, and now story driven quest rules are being tacked on.

Does that seem to be the case to anybody else, or am I missing something?

As long as the game ends up being fun and easy to teach I'm fine either way.

This is exactly what happened to Myth. People wanted something other than the original vision, so the creators tacked on new rules and it became a train wreck.

It definitely feels like that, I think you are right. But a fantasy monster enemy version of Z:BP sounds pretty good to me. And if the story driven stuff turns out well it will be a nice bonus.

Right you are. I could definitely have fun fighting fantasy monsters Black Plague style. This looks like the first time Guillotine Games is attempting to make dungeon crawler rules, and they don't have much time to do it. Hope they're up to the task. I love Z:BP so it should be plenty exciting as a scenario driven combat game even if the story mode ends up choppy. The next three weeks will be interesting.

from what a cmon insider has been posting on Dakka the campaign rules etc were always planned, but were originally intended to come via CMONs organised play group at a later date, so we may be seeing it sooner, but it was always intended to exist and at least some internal development has been done on it

There is a sh*tstorm on the CoolMiniOrNot FB page starting, because CMON want to offer retailer pledges.

Does nobody read the complete text?

They plan to release the retailer sets 2 weeks earlier as normal retailers get their stuff. But this means also if our stuff is late, same will happen with the retailer pledges. Because their stuff would be still in production, too.

These retailers will get the same english version as we get, or not? So no localized version and all the extra stuff.

And why should a dealer not selling the good stuff on ebay to get much higher prices?

I think the base pledge looks like an okay deal purely for the minis, and it should improve, so I'm backing for just that for the forseeable future. I'd only consider the elementals if they were sold as individuals since for two of them (fire and earth) I find the designs to be extremely meh, and I'm not dropping $40 just to get the two I would actually want.

Personally I'd like to see more game accessory or terrain addons / stretch goals. For example I love the dice tower that came with Z:BP and the chests and pillars in MD are probably what put me over the top on deciding to back it.

Honestly, I just wish that CMON would stop making so many KS exclusives. Retailers wouldn't be left out of getting the minis through normal means and gamers who missed the KS wouldn't feel left out as much either. The ebay scalpers would raise a fuss, but it's the gamers and retailers who matter. CMON could still make limited editions for some mini packs, like they do for the artist boxes, and just have a few exclusives for backers and conventions. If they did that the retailers might not feel like they were at such a disadvantage.

Honestly, did Black Plague really need 34 kickstarter exclusives?

Considering how many of their exclusives are media character likenesses, would those even be possible in retail? Even if they could regularly win cases for parody or fair use I'd imagine lawyers from deeper pocket companies would have a field day harassing them for figures like "Xuxa" if it was an ongoing store release. If you exclude the infringy stuff that just wouldn't exist otherwise, things look less excessive.

The better deal would be an incentive. I get the base game and - let's say - the first one or two expansions for the price of the base game. Even without exclusives, that would be ok for me.

So using ZBP as an example, Retail base+expansion= 63+47or 110 plus shipping. I paid 150 plus shipping. How is it a better deal? I personally use KS BECAUSE it has exclusives. Not because I am getting a better price, which with the KSE I am. without KSE I am just paying an extra $30 to get it delivered months after releasing to retail.
