Skippen. If you pledge $1 can you add the add-on later?  Without having to back for the full pledge?

I am probably not looking at this like most people. My group has not really made much effort to play any of the board games we have gotten. I got Sparticus, BattleStar Galactica, and Firefly for some of the guys about 2 years ago for Xmas. Of those, we have only played Sparticus once... and have not opened the boxes of the other two.

I backed Zombicide 1, 2, Black plague, and Blood Rage. I have played Zombicide 1 about 6 times with friends and my kids. Have not played 2 or Blood Rage, not Black Plague. I also late backed Kingdom death.... I have assembled the core minis but none of the armor kits and have not played....

My group just puts an emphasis on RPGS.... SO we have not really had a chance for Board games.

So... I now back these more for cool minis that I can get use out of in Pathfinder, or other RPGs. This has a ton of minis that fit that bill. As some have said in the comments, a lot of the minis look like they just digitally swapped out heads... But they are still cool. I am not sure of the hero expansion one, but I have added fund for it... May swap that out for more ratmen though... Its funny I was just looking at GW skaven on the bay last night.... now I don't have too...

I don't know if maybe I just expected the wrong things or what, but I'm just not getting much of a thrill out of what they've been doing. I've added nothing, and I keep thinking about just dropping out. Imagine I'll stay just because it's a lot of stuff, but. Eh.

What Marvin said. There is just so little original content here: orcs, goblins, ratlings, blood rage rejects sold as troglodytes, all with almost identical uninspired poses. Ok, pointy hats are kinda new.

If it wasn't for the KS value and the stretch goal big guys, I would have dropped too.

Still, 150 miniatures and 25 pieces of scenery for that price, that is rivaling Bones.  Lemme see...

This one has me on the fence. I have not thrown in a pledge at this point, but I am tempted.

A guy in my gaming group is backing it, which tempts me to not back it (since the group will already have access). Is this a typical CMON project in which I could back at $1 and change my mind later to add the game at the same great deal?

Yes : "You can make a $1 pledge now, and when the Pledge Manager goes live after the campaign has ended you can add more funds to get a full pledge and any add-ons you'd like."

though if it's like other CMoN deals, you have to pledge at least for Lightbringer if you want add-ons.

Yeah... The air elemental is nice but not $40 nice... I don't really like the femme Cyclops... but I also don't have any femme Cyclops... so I needs? The heroes are ok... but its just a few dollars less than more skaven... so... not sure..

I have to confess that I think a big part of my disillusion is simply that they've got some stuff priced too high. Bones KS projects are a great point of reference, I think. The core game here might already beat out the last two Bones core pledges, in terms of quantity--qualitatively, I've got Reaper's sculpts winning in a landslide, to be honest. it's a lot of minis, and a lot of them are BIG. And it's a whole game! I'm really hoping it's a fun game to play; to that end, was quite happy to see tiles as the next stretch goal.

But get beyond that core game and everything gets hit and miss, seems like. The big-group boxes seem like a good deal, the crossover seems like it's at a good spot--I'm only on the fence on it because I don't know when/if I'll ever get BP--but some of the other, the elementals especially and probably the heroes/cyclops--eh.

And, I mean, yeah, I'm cheap. I take the notion of paying far in advance for a KS project too seriously, maybe, but they say themselves: KS ain't a store. This ain't a simple transaction. They have to earn it.

I probably just need to shut up, but this is why the Internets were invented. Complaining.

I'm actually quite happy they are not going with a ton of KS exclusive add-ons this project. I can pick up the add-on stuff later. Granted from what I have researched, the KS prices are 30% - 40% cheaper than retail price. I am not sure about the pricing on massive darkness though. They appear quite high.

The $32.00 sets for 20 Minis and a large mini seems pretty good. I can see it going cheaper on sites like Miniature Market though. The Ninja All-stars boxes aren't as cheap as I had hoped for, I was hoping on picking up a couple form the big Oni in the boxes and also to pick up a one off team to play since my buddy has the game... Also the Wrath of kings stuff has retained their value/price... Though I have picked up plenty of relic knights stuff (Mostly Noh) for dirt cheap.

Also... I am compulsive and love to have all that I want lined up without having to worry about getting things later. I Hate exclusives ... HATE. them..! I cant stand when I like something, but like it too late. I don't need any of the exclusives, but my impulse drives me to get them and if I cant...

As an example. There was a studio McVey limited miniature of a woman smoking with a monkey on her shoulder. I think it was inspired by the magical armored bear movie with Nicole Kidman... The min suited a character I wanted to play exactly.... And she is impossible to find...

So. Exclusives are good in that they make the game more attractive to buy now... which increases the funding, which unlocks more goodies for me... But it also puts a gap... and having said that I am currently trying to sell an unopen box of Zombicide season one box 1 on Ebay... So I guess I am part of the problem.

I get more and more an idea why i do not like most minis(not the roaming ones).

First I do not like to get 6 or 12 times the same mini.

But with more and more sets of horde minis unlocked, it feels like most of them are in braggart poses instead of fighing poses.

In the moment I will hold only the standard pledge + crossover, because of the minis coming with it, few are really cool.

About the game itself I'm still not convinced.

Still missing more thieving skills, like trap searching, lockpicking,

or more different kind of spells,

or more dungeon furniture...

I do also not understand the decision to make the crossover exclusive. It is really a stupid decision. :-(

I came for the pointy hats.

I also remember the days when they were called Wandering Monsters and were just a bunch of goblins or something. Now, they're frickin' boss monsters! I think they'll compliment my existing bunch of mini's, even if I still can't find to paint them!

With most of the mob minis popping onto the board in groups and getting whipped out in multiples each round, I think having a single sculpt for each mob will help the game play faster and easier. The bosses and agents are the only ones that really need to be unique.

I agree 100% about the braggart poses. I'll go farther and say many of them are bad and a few are plain awful.

Adding more rule mechanics for traps and lockpicking could slow down the pace of the game and make it more complicated than needed without adding much fun. This game is supposed to be simple to learn and as fast paced as possible. It doesn't seem to be competing with Descent. It's shaping up to be just a hack & slash. Something does seem to be missing from this game, but it's hard to figure out what that thing is. Maybe CMON advertised it in the wrong way.
