Massive recall of frozen veg in the US -- possible Listeria -- many brands affected

Recommended Posts

I mentioned this in Randomness a few days ago, but people should be aware of this.

There is a massive recall of frozen vegetables ongoing in the US at the moment.

Listeria contamination is suspected in frozen organic and regular vegetables processed by CRF Foods in Pasco, Washington. They supply vegetables and ingredients under a large number of brands to many retailers, including Trader Joe's, CostCo, Krogers, and Publix Supermarkets.

The recall is not just vegetables, but dishes like stir fries, frozen entrees and salads made with those vegetables.

Several lists of some of the products affected are here:

Thanks for posting those.

I don't think I need to worry, due to ongoing, resolute failure to eat enough vegetables.

Why does Panda Express have two vegetable items in grocery stores? PE is a Chinese fast-food joint I go to when I should not eat egg rolls.

This many, many, numerous, multitude of brands all coming from one giant factory is clearly a bad idea, that must be why no one person is guilty of thinking of it.

Got a few gifts for the gals in the office ... got me thinking about food (I let them pick the gift subject) ... thought I'd let you all have a snek peek ...
and I'll throw in a few extras ...

Funny how food has hardly changed at all ... or has it ???

A friend of mine with connections in the food industry has told me people in the US and Canada should throw out ALL of their sunflower seed-containing foods and just rule out sunflower seeds for the foreseeable future.
A processor who supplies EVERYBODY with sunflower seeds was found to be contaminated with Listeria earlier this year, and recall after recall has been going on for almost two months.
Brands affected include Planters, Clif Bars, Nature Valley, Atkins, Trader Joe's, SunOpta, Kroger, Papa Johns, organic bulk food groceris, and every snack food vendor everywhere, just about.
The list just keeps growing and growing.

I just noticed the second one is actually a worm sign. Augh.

      Hello everyone!
I'm new to the tabletop/miniature hobby so forgive me if I ask some dumb questions.
My husband and I just bought the Descent board game and those figures are BEGGING for some love and paint.
Since I'm a graphic designer and painter by trade, the tiny details these guys have really speak to me.  So I went down to my local game store (shout out to The Game Keep in Nashville, TN!) and picked these guys up for practice.  I love the idea of metal figures because of the weight and because I can strip and repaint them.  I wish all my figures were metal!
However, I just found out that some Reaper figures are made with a lead alloy.  Normally, I wouldn't care because I wasn't planning on eating them....BUT my 3 month old kitten might.
I just want to know if any of these are in the P-65 line so extra care can be taken cleaning up the shavings.
How can I identify a lead figure in the future?
      Thanks for the help!
