I have been called to both Elfbarker and the Project Manager's offices today for 2 different reasons, neither of which were bad.

Elfbarker wanted to talk to me about things that we will keep keeping our fingers crossed for and not jinx and Project Manager needed to talk to me about a couple of submittals that I'm putting together. It doesn't matter how long I run this department or how many times I talk to either of them, I still sit there feeling like I've been called to the principal's office every single time.

And if you're like me in another area as well, you had (or are currently) bought something ever so small from a store where you found nothing to buy just so they wouldn't think you had been shoplifting.

Yep, right you are!

I, uh...might possibly resemble this remark.

There's something kind of sad about being in a Hangout and having Google cheerfully informing you that "You are the only one here." Like you've got a party going on at your house, but nobody's showed up yet.

I have come to the conclusion that my boss has given me more work than I can feasibly manage. Not completely his fault as we're severely short-handed, but he's still making demands from us as if our workload is not as heavy as it is.

I need two more of me to get this done on time. I still have no course writers, and they were supposed to start next Monday.

We aren't even setting up course development until the Monday after that.

My youngest has also decided that when he is on the bed, the wall must be kicked or knocked on. All. The. Time. He spent 90% of yesterday doing it. It came to a point where I was about to wrap him in duck tape (I even changed his account password on the computer so he can't sneak log-on... no punishment is working). He will do this with any bed or even if laying on the floor.

In the car he knocks on the door and window. I need to Make It Stop (my mom is also going hyper nuts about it which compounds the issue).

Hopefully you can get your boss to come to some sort of arrangement on what work actually NEEDS to get done, that's been the status quo with my hubby for the past few months. At least his boss knew he couldn't get everything done and encouraged prioritization.

Is there a chance that the kicking & knocking child is stressed and manifesting a nervous tic? A friend's kid had a similar problem and resolving the source of the stress was the easiest solution. Good luck, it sounds like you've got a fairly full plate at the moment. <3

 I've seen that message so much for very extended periods of time. It does start to feel like "I guess no one wants to talk to me.....that's fine, they're probably all just busy.....yep, just going to keep painting, this is fine....." ::P:

Well, dang, the power's out.

Catch you later.

Woot! Party time!!!

On a serious note, ugh! Ack! I hope it gets back on soon!

It came on about 45 minutes ago, so not too bad.

On the bright side, I discovered that between fortunate window placement, headlamps and flashlights, minis prep is fully possible during a blackout.

Anyhoo, we are heading out to mysterious destinations in a minute or two as my husband appears to have PlansTM.

Heh, exactly. I'm just keeping it open because some people have reported not being able to join if it's completely empty.

Unfortunately we have In Field dates we have to make, and the projects are critical to the filing season readiness for taxes. They can't be set aside or reprioritized because it's all important. In a meeting today I was told "they will be on time."

This is very much food for thought. I'm fighting massive amounts of stress right now, not just what I've posted about (most of which I have no one I can talk to about it). He could be picking it up from me and unable to manage it. I'll look into seeing what we can do. Thanks for the idea.

Right, I've got bacon in the fridge... Please excuse me, I need to cook some bacon!!

Save me some!

It's very quiet around the office this morning. I don't trust it.

Watch out for snipers.

And fresh pineapple. ..

YUM!

>snaps at the bacon in front of his nose, narrowly missing the fingers hding it<

:wow:

Relax, I left the fingers. I hope this teaches you not to tease me with food, though.

Not tolerating life well right now. It started yesterday. The rest of this year is going to be most unpleasant.

Not looking forward to it.

If I don't make it, my minis and paints go to Reaper to be distributed as they see fit.

I hope that things start looking up for you.

Howdy all! I'm back! I had a fantastic time in Minneapolis visiting friends, had a lot of fun getting home again... Not so much fun with the whole being-at-work thing. I'd like to give this a miss next time. ::P:

I have absolutely no idea how many pages I missed but I'm guessing a lot. If I missed anything important, let me know. Otherwise I'll just assume that glitter was threatened (or deployed), bacon was eaten, wolves were wolfy, the barbarian barbarianed, etc. ::D:

That about sums it up.

The English language. Mugging other languages for vocabulary since the Dark Ages.

Interestingly enough, in this instance, the English "till" is older than the mugged "until", dating back circa 800 CE.

Yeah, etymology's one of my things. Also, entomology.

And let me guess, you're an enterologist professionally?

::D:

Ew. No. xD

Honestly, I didn't keep up with most of the stuff over this weekend either, so just pretend you did read it all and jump back into what is currently going on ::D:

Which I gather is currently teasing our wolf friends with bacon.....? ::P:

(I didn't read through the weekend either)

Yes.... well he deserves it!  :ik_oops:

Deserves to be given bacon? Well, of course. :upside:
