Randomness IX: Incoherence is our superpower!

Phew!

I looked up an interesting book and it was listed as $16.96 on Amazon.

I wasn't signed in on that device and didn't want to be, so I switched to another one where I was signed in and looked up the book.

Amazon told me it was $24.95.

Apparently it is WELL worth checking Amazon both signed in and not signed in, because its prices are not the same.

Oh dear...I'll have to look into that, I'm logged into Amazon ALL THE TIME. Or perhaps I could check the difference between my account (which we both use), and my husband's account (which only gets used a few times a year when he orders something for me and doesn't want the "Your item, ____, has shipped!" notifications going to my email, lol).

To be fair, I used slightly different search terms on each device and as someone wiser than I pointed out, that and different search histories could have brought up slightly different pages, editions, or even sellers.

I may have jumped to conclusions too fast, is what I am saying.

You guys made me curious.

Googling the issue shows that it's been happening since at least 2008. Noticed mostly by Amazon Prime members.

Kobolds haven't even got the food service going yet...

...and so far it is un-besmirched with ...glitter...

*looks up from applying intensely glittery purple nail polish to her nails*

Oh, uh...I can do this elsewhere.  :upside:

Huzzah!

That form is probably (mostly) harmless.

Oh, and, shiny new thread, ooooh, ahhhh. Not even dust bunnies under the sofa yet.

Give it time.

Well, that didn't take long.

Also, random thought:  with 28 pages left to live, wouldn't it be kinda funny if this thread passed quietly in the night with nary a whimper?

Called it!

Disappointing about the Amazon price thing, though I tend to search things multiple times before purchase and hadn't noticed that before.

At any rate, New thread smell! Oh and as I was bringing over my last load of boxes from the old thread I noticed that somebody forgot their dust bunny herd. I showed the little guys the way over but they got startled when we go here and scattered. I'm sure they'll come out at eventually. A couple had some glitter in them though so you might be able to track them by their droppings. /innocent

You guys seriously did 27 pages in 8 hours?  Yow.

Also, I'm still giggling about "Onan the Barbarian".

Technically it was less than 3 hours...

Though we did play a game to do it, which was pretty fun.

This is the original guys:

[snip big picture of awesome castle on floating boulder]

Somebody should build it in Minecraft. (I bet someone has.)

Oneboot were you serious about trying to build that in Minecraft?

I ask because one of my Sharpie pens tried to figure out the ground plan of the castle...view from overhead...on graph paper...

Tricky little bugger. :poke:

Good morning all!

I should've gone to bed 2 hours ago.  :bday:  :bday:  :bday:

I should have stayed up to see the end, and the new beginning! Now I've got to move all my stuff over to hear. *force lifts crates of minis and paints, stashes of snacks, and lots of fluffy bedding*

Walked into work this morning. Got a promotion with an extra (almost) $10k raise. Feel a little bad about all the jobs I've been applying for. Not that it's gonna stop me from applying to more, but still.
