Does it help that my brain switched over to chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and hot rolls? Or does that just make things worse?

 

It seems all I've been doing is posting what my brain is craving. I should find something more interesting to talk about.

 Guindy,  you should set up a circuit on your door hooked up to your computer so that every time the door opens when you have it on it'll play a pre-recorded message like...

 

 "Welcome to my home. Please be advised that you are being recorded with both visual and audio media, and that I have been notified of your presence and am watching you in real time."

 

If you can remote access your home computer through your phone you can turn it on and off whenever you leave the house.

Doubt I'll make any Hangouts this evening. I just got back from the monster dentist, after having #13 extracted. All things considered, it went well. The dentist was competent, quick, and gentle.

 

Now the anesthetic's worn off, and the narc's haven't kicked in (yet). They were like, "Oh, the numbing will wear off in about two or three hours, try to take the pain meds in about an hour." The numbing wore off in, I dunno.... 15 minutes? Damn my often amazing immune system.

 

I'mma go pass out now.

 Hell, I need to get shot up with novocaine again during the proceedure if they're doing anything more involved than drilling a cavity... I've built up a tolerance so high it takes a massive amount to work and then generally wears off in about fifteen minutes...

To make things even better, I found out that it pays a little better than my previous position instead of a little less...even more if a pending 4% increase goes through in the next month due to a recent Proposition passing in the state election last month.

Moving up to the district office feels good. Going back to my previous district feels like going home...even more so because I graduated from one of the high schools there.

I felt like I had an amazing interview. I worked the room of six people well and answered the questions thoroughly. I had everyone laughing at the right times, and nodding their heads in agreement much of the time. Then they sent me to another room with a laptop and set a timer for 30 minutes for me to answer one of three questions. I chose to answer one that was something along the lines of "With the trends moving to more personalized education, what will the classroom look like in the year 2050. I tend to think in a scattered way during the creative process and then bring it all together. I got to the point that I was ready to bring my ideas together and saw the timer was at 4 minutes and 32 seconds. Needless to say, the timed portion was something I walked away with much less confidence. I was worried, but the voicemail and email sent from the Director of Curriculum for the district came with very high praise from her and from the interview team.

 

I was on cloud nine about this until I called current Assistant Principal to let her know (my Principal is out of town). It was difficult not to get choked up.

 

Now to write a letter of resignation. I am going to resist starting with "It isn't me, it is you..."

Last month I finally remembered to remind my dentist that I always need more anesthetic and I have always had to have more added halfway through.

 

They gave me a massive amount of novocaine. The procedure didn't hurt! Not even a little! I didn't know that was possible! And it wore off before I got home, another new experience.
