If you look at the KS page of countries allowed, it doesn't include Poland: "Project creation is currently available to individuals in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg who meet the requirements below.https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/creator+questions

Except, of course, that you find projects based in Poland. https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/advanced?state=successful&woe_id=23424923&sort=most_funded

Thanks for making *that* clear, KS.

To run a KS you have to have a 'legal entity' in one of the countries listed (to run a KS on the appropriate KS site),

but that can be the proverbial empty shell with a post box that just takes the money from KS an immediately passes it to the real company elsewhere

If they didn't look into it enough to find out that the list is out dated and you actually can run a Kickstarter from Poland it's just another red flag to add to the pile.

But that's just it. They did look into it enough to know they couldn't run a KS from Poland, so they got someone in the US to run it for them and tried to hide who they were. It wasn't until BGG users tracked the shell company/person down that Archon revealed their involvement.

Personally, I find that a much bigger red flag! (Hiding behind a shell company rather than just saying so-and-so in the US is running this for us, b/c we're in Poland. But of course the real reason to hide was to avoid any association with Prodos/AvP.)

And Archon isn't the first Prodos "affiliated" company they've made:

Cerebrum Games will cease to exist very shortly
I am no longer part of Prodos Games
Prodos Ltd predates Prodos Games and was JE personal company for contracts linked to his former career.
The Titan Games Company is a dead shell set up for a shop venture which would have been a partnership between Prodos and Titan Games. This project was killed by Titan Games.
Prodos Games has no owners in the UK and yet another company owned by ProdosGames and Jarek's father in Poland (pila) called Archon Games.

Old history, but those who do not learn from history back KickStarters. More info in the BGG LOAD forum.

I'm pretty sure not, but I didn't dig in that direction when researching Titan Forge Games for Lobotomy,

I guess you could ask the Titan Forge Games folks to find out -- let me know when you do! (:

I did find a Titan-Forge KS creator for dwarven miniatures, but KS says they're in the UK, while Titan Forge Games is in Poland.

Very confusing! (:

I've been watching this one out of curiosity...

The other day I looked and they had over 1300 early bird backers, now they are down to 1222.

Wouldn't mind picking up some of the "epics" at retail but I'm not risking this one.

Archon/Prodos make some or all minis for TTG, but they do a good job making minis. So it should be not a problem. They do it for many companies. Some Resin minis for Mantic for example.

The problem is that the less money you give them, the less attention they will pay to you. In that Quirkworthy blog, Kyle posted how 18 of his 100 figures had QA problems, and how difficult it was to get any attention from Prodos.

Also, some of the trap (?) tiles from Dungeon Saga had thumbprints on them.
