Tiniest paints a little stone cottage, windmill and well

Okay, this cloth is driving me batty. I have no idea how to proceed. Im going for a solid look similar to this picture.

 

This is what they look like currently

Looks like your paint is too white and blue, you could use a Reaper MSP Linen White (maybe with a very slight touch of golden blonde) with a light reddish brown wash in the folds to emulate the picture.

The paint used were linen white, Terran khaki, golden brown and citadel seraphim sepia. So...lol. I think maybe I need to base coat it again but with the golden brown instead of the Terran khaki then go from there. Thanks!

The Mill in the picture looks like it has more ivory creamy cloth to me.

 

Linen white is fine, but i think it needs more cream, maybe some of the Bone colours will help you out here?

 Well Owens back over it with golden brown a am currently highlighting up to linen white. That seems to be working.

Naughty kitty, none of the others get up on that table.

I just viewed your stone cottage work pages.  I think that you did an outstanding job on that building.  I love the stone color variations...clearly evident but still subtle enouigh in your approach and execution. I think you did an outstanding job!

 

Your wood grain work is nicely done...I feel that it could use a little lighter hilite (reddish tan) for a little more separation from the stone.

 

Roof planks look very nice...again I feel that you could use selected area weathering hilites...although the planks are all the same...weathering would still be varied in selected areas for any number of varied reasons.

 

I think you did an outstanding job on this structure overall.

 

ONE THING I DID NOT SEE...nowhere on the leading roof edges or on the roof center crest...the touch of bird droppings.

One thing I noticed is that the frames on the vanes in the picture are mostly hidden and a light red wood color. Your vanes have all their wood exposed and are a grayish dark wood color. With your cloth next to that, it may be hard for the eye to register a match even if you nail the cloth color perfectly.

  Oh my goodness! Hello! So amazing to see you back!

Thank you for the feedback. I still need to go back over the roof. I will be rusting up the nails with some rust stains, dirt and the like. I planned on doing all the weathering after I finished the other pieces so I could do it all at once. Bird droppings is inspired though, I will add that to the plans. The wood can be reworked as well.

Your advice for Tiniest is really good, I would never have thought of bird droppings, either.  Tiniest, the building already looks great, but if you can pull the bird droppings and varied weathering off...  You will have a centerpiece, not just a piece of terrain.
