Outside of the Pathfinder name, I'm not sure yet what the appeal is vs. Shadowrun or Star Wars... It could be fun, though.

The most important question: will Reaper have licensed Starfinder miniatures?

Depends on how closely it hews to Spelljammer's ethos.

I imagine it would have a very different feel than Shadowrun at least, as for Star Wars, I guess if you just didn't like any of the other available systems. I do wonder how easy it would be to port D20 Star Wars into it.

I agree that new minis for this would be good as well.

I think it's actually supposed to be Pathfinder in space in the future. not just Pathfinder in space like Spelljammer. None the less Spelljammer was what immediately came to mind when I saw this.

I wasn't a huge fan of Spelljammer as a setting myself, I thought it was... maybe a little too ridiculous? I probably read too much hard sci-fi for it to really appeal. I know there were some people who really loved it.

Starfinder is looking to be more hard science fiction though. Significantly less magic (although I think there may be some, still). Deities are still around and there's an ascended AI deity. World of Golarion has vanished somewhere and nobody can remember where. The Pathfinder Society is trying to figure out what happened to everyone's memories.

I think humans are the only core race in Pathfinder that will be a core race in Starfinder, so probably no dwarves, elves, gnomes, halflings, etc.

The important question is "Will there be an Adventure Card Game?"

oh no... I'm not sure I can defeat the shop keeper's robot daughter.

Since as its release is in summer 2017, we'll have plenty of time to see how it develops.

And it sure doesn't give the same vibe as Spelljammer which really was high fantasy in space, no science there.

There is always White Star rpg, which I really need to download, someday........

I'm not sure I want to dip into Starfinder. I like Pathfinder but lately I feel like there is just too much going on with it. Granted yes, the rules are optional but I do like to keep a open mind when it comes to all the rules & such.

Curious if they'll go Spelljammer or Star Frontier route with the rules & setting. I've only seen the blog posts on P.com & even then I didn't really read it all that close. I will say I'm sure I wanna add anther monthly Adventure Path to my current one (bad enough when they force 2 of them on you in a month's shipment..... <_< ).

Hopefully it'll be a success for them thou. Always nice to have options.

Interesting. I will keep my eye on it. Either way i hope we get some more sci-fi miniature production out of it. :)

Don't count on no elves. If I recall elves are aliens on Golarion. Their elf gates connect to their world if I recall as well as other places on golarion. So we might discover elf gates on other worlds. No clue yet. I just seem to recall that being mentioned.

Does make me wonder if they once had an intergalactic empire now though

I'm only repeating what I've heard from Paizocon. You're right, though, it's a little surprising. They might be trying to draw a clear line between Pathfinder and Starfinder, which seems to be why they had Golarion disappear.

Anyway, you're right, elves are aliens! They're from Castrovel, i.e. Golarion Venus. There are a series of aiudara (elf gates) that link up Golarion and Castrovel.

There's even a trait you can take to officially be an alien in regular old Pathfinder.

Just recalled those furry humanoids from Reign of Winter AP. Curious if those will be a option for races. Human as the only core would be kinda blehh being in Outer space. Heck just look at all the aliens you encounter in Trek or Wars!!

"Paizo" carved on the bottom, from the early 2000's. I don't know much more than that.

Pathfinder Red Dragon #60028 is a hefty beastie and I definitely did not paint him red. Instead I tried a rainbow piece for Pride 2020 (finished 8/1/2020). Also my first painted model posted here. Pardon my photography skills. I used cut up Caryatid column #77378 for a bit of terrain on the base. My biggest metal model to date.

I recently played and really enjoyed Pathfinder: Kingmaker (PC not tabletop), and I've had the urge to paint up some Pathfinder miniatures.  This guy is the Stag Lord (SKU 60073), I figured he would be quite appropriate as the first miniature painted up to be photographed on the ruined keep scenic backdrop I built recently.  I really enjoyed painting this guy (I am weird and enjoy painting skin tones far too much, bare chested models are always a treat).  My only regret is gluing his helmet on before painting his face, those big teeth made it really hard to get a brush inside the helmet at an angle that wasn't awkward, after a massive struggle I gave up trying to dot the eyes.

A small group of Goblins to use as opponents in Sellsword & Spellslingers or any other game.

Well, in case you haven't noticed, I'm on a bit of a goblin streak. Those pyros were fun, but now it's the Pathfinder Goblin Warriors!

As I did previously, I took a picture of them out in the backyard, just to see how they'd look in as realistic of an environment as it's gonna get, another in my little "Mini pictures area" (Spoiler: It's literally just my desk with a piece of white paper behind it. Sorry to ruin the magic! ), and lastly one of my favorite goblin. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

Sidenote: I'm still not confident enough to try out eyes. I'll get to that eventually.
