Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentleman.

Welcome to the Department of Inspirations thread of Reaper Forums.

This new department will be dedicated to posting things that inspire our imagination with regard to our hobby.  It can be anything really but you need to post why it inspires you and how it relates to the hobby.

Here's an example:

Katarzyna Górska posted this gorgeous WIP base on Facebook earlier today.

My thoughts:

It's a lot of freehand painting and some cool actual raised sculpting.  Looks nearly complete to me, so I can't wait to see the finished product.  It reminds me of the stuff I did with the cork rounds; Geode Base.  I might try doing something similar.

Rules for this thread:

Well, naturally Reaper's forum rules apply.  So no commerce links.  If you are inspired by a photo on an commerce site find the company's Facebook page or other social media site that has the same pic and then provide that for a link.

Use common sense and let's keep it to; "How the art or whatever it is inspires you with regards to the hobby."

Above all let's inspire each other.

Great thread idea!!

I'll update this post in a bit with some of my inspirations.

ETA:

Barbarian from Ares Mythologic

What I love about this piece is not only the awesome figure, but the atmosphere and mood that the painter (Pro Arnau Lazaro) accomplished, really dig the skin tones as well. It's moody, dark, brooding, and dangerous. It shows what can be accomplished with a simple and effective base that doesn't distract from the figure at all, but still has the same colors in it for cohesion.

Cang the Implacable from CMON.  And to answer the obvious question, that little dude on the dragon's back is indeed 28mm scale folks - which means that big lizard is over two feet high.  An epic-sized miniature with a sweet paint job, what's not to like?  This piece is my go-to as far as inspiration goes for the much anticipated Tianot release from Reaper.  That is not to say that I will not commit unspeakable acts in order to get my hands on one of these OOP Cang sculpts given the chance . . .

The Egg

I do believe that is Aaron Jovejoy's work. Always did like that particular dragon, just no cash to get it.

Nice idea for a thread. I like!
