Sandru Vhiski, Pathfinder Miniatures Range

Recommended Posts

I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them:

Sandru Vhiski from Reaper Pathfinder Miniatures range. I don't really know why I rushed him up the production line. He's somewhat fitting for a character I'm playing in a DnD game, although yet he's not. Perhaps he's a good fit for a future character?

Sadly he ended up somewhat flat.

Really like this one, I have yet to paint mine up. Great work!

Thank you! You should paint yours up, it's a great sculpt!

Mine actually I did some minor surgery to, cut off his beard for a player and then that PC died before I could paint it up haha!

Kiss of death for a PC.

"ooohh paint me a mini for my character....ok DONE!.....Dead"

Nice work on that one. Debating on using that one for a constable or the actual constable Pathfinder mini. I kinda like this guy better.

Love the face!!

He looks good. I find that a little orange/rusty brown highlight brings up that dark brown color quite nicely.

I own Sandru.

I *played* Sandru! (GMed Jade Regent adventure path in which he's a NPC). And I approve this mini. :poke:

It's impossible to not like him. Heck, many of the Jade Regent minis are phenomenally full of character (Ameiko, Koya, O-Sayumi)

The last of my player characters I painted up for Frostrun is Ophelia Pokitz, a young halfling with sticky fingers.  They're represented here by Bailey Silverbell.

Ophelia was a fun mini as well.  Was my first time painting a humanoid with large facial features, which made it a lot easier to bring definition to the nose, lips, and eyes.  I think I even hit the cheeks with a bit of blush.  I also had fun trying to make their cloak look like it was made of fur.  The result is acceptable, but might also just look snow covered.  You can be the judge.  I also enjoyed painting a rogue that was both colorful, but subdued.  The dark greens and magentas add some much needed life to the otherwise dark mini, in my opinion.

      More Photos beneath the spoiler:

Ophelia Pokitz is what you would call a troubled teen.  Orphaned at a young age, Ophelia spent much of their childhood passing from orphanage to orphanage, always finding a way to get kicked out.  They eventually left the system and struck out on their own, traveling to some of the larger cities in search of a better life.  Over the years, Ophelia has learned to use their small size and tiny hands to "reposes" any valuables that aren't bolted down.  This habit has put them on a wanted list in many towns across the countryside.  Pushed further north, Ophelia has found themselves in the town of Harpy's Hearth.  Ignorant of their southern reputation, and full of gold-carrying adventurers, this could be a great place for Ophelia to catch a break and line their own pockets.  It could also be a great place to find a new family.  If they can survive the darkness to come.

Continuing with my showcase of old Player Characters for Frostrun, we have Nox, the Drow Bard, represented by Astrid, Female Bard.

Nox was a fun challenge and one of the few times that I played around with color palettes online, and tried out some test drawings to really decide on colors and patterns ahead of time.  Settled on black and dark grey for the main colors, with red for pattern accents, and purple for a dash of flavor.  I feel it lands properly in the category of a dark entertainer without reading too much like a Harley Quinn knock-off.  Though the player she was designed for loves Harley so I'm sure the similarities were appreciated.

      Reverse side under the spoiler:

Nox is a Drow Bard and a newcomer to Frostrun.  Nox left behind her home in the Underdark to seek out a life of adventure and fame as a traveling entertainer, but soon found herself on the wrong side of the law.  With nowhere else to go, Nox has turned towards Frostrun, the edge of civilization.  A place where people are judged not by their past, but by their ability to survive.  Unfortunately, a dark force has threatened her one chance at redemption.  Will Nox rewrite the tale and come out a legend?  Or will darkness have its way and leave her as a footnote in someone else's song?

Printed this out a while ago and made a base for her with the Greenstuffworld Cobblestone Roller and a twig.
The primer came out a bit chalky will try to remedy that. But for now I've basecoated her boots.
Leather can be a bit rough so it's alright.

      Hi guys,

Been working off and on on a few different miniatures but just got a few finished last night.  This one I was able to actually photograph today. I had another that I took pictures of, but when I looked at the pictures, it had a piece of grass sitting on it that I just couldn't accept so I'll take pictures again tomorrow of that figure.

So anyhoos, here is a Ral Partha Brigand with Sword, the third part of a blister from Partha's Encounters of the Imagination Series:

and here's a picture of the group together:

The set also came with some loot, some bags and a little treasure pile, but I haven't painted those yet. Don't know if I will or not.  Anyways, hope you all enjoy and are also enjoying the glory that is Reapercon!

      Another print from Artisan Guild.

      Aline the Bold.
I printed her, created a base for her using the Greenstuffworld Small Cobblestone one and a twig from the Garden Centre.
She will also get a bow on her back.

      Primed..
