Duck into Platypus, Team Frog Critter Commando CFE7642

***Since I don't have enough projects going already....****

 

So this figure showed up in the BOGW, and I flashed back to Casket Works #13 where Reaper had Team Frog stuff in the catalog...

(Really bad scan....)

 

 

I don't really do anthropomorphic minis, but I saw the inner platypus screaming to get out, so....

 

Drilled a couple of holes in his bottom, and put a piece of paper clip into them as an armature for the new tail:

 

     

 

Then added some greenstuff,

 

  

 

Thinking that once that hardens, I can work from there to try to do some fur lines....

 

Any Ideas on how to make a monocle?

IDK, twist some very fine wire around the inner core of a pen and cut, chainmail style, to make a loop, then fill it with greenstuff and paint? Never done it, but if I was gonna...

For the monocle, do you have a mechanical pencil? I'm thinking, flatten a small ball of green stuff and then use the pencil tip to make a small mark forming a rim and lens?

I second the idea to use some very thin copper wire strands (lightly twisted) and form the monocle and the chain it is attached to. You can then paint the frame and add some clear acrylic gel to the monocle to simulate glass.

So I skin coated the tail, and attempted to sculpt something that looks like fur....

 

   

 

And here is a pic of the front for a better view of what I have to work with in regards the monocle...

 

I am also debating filing down the helmet to make it look like a civilian hat....

I think you can leave the helmet as is, and sculpt over the round part to create a top hat.

So I did some more on him while on the hangout....

 

I used my Dremel tool and some files to change his helmet to a more civilian looking hat, Carved the epaulettes from his shoulders with an X-Acto knife, and cleaned it us, again with the dremel and files

 

I then did a skin coat of green stuff on his head, and tried to make a fur pattern in it....

 

      

 

Wondering if I should try to do something with the belt and back pack....
