Do you play a lot of table top games, board games, card games, or RPGs? If you do, then you want to check this out. Watch the video above.

I used to be skeptical. I mean, you can play board games on any table. You can even play them on the floor. Can a table really add that much to the experience?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Every year, more and more people are buying gaming tables because they use one at a convention or at a friend's house and they fall in love.

A game table really does put your game into an arena, taking the experience to the next level. It's a fun way to play. At the same time, there are real practical benefits:

  • A place to rest your arms
  • Bits don't fall off the table
  • Cup holders!
  • It's easy to pick up cards off the table

This Kickstarter is about to blow that up, because we are bringing those features to you at a fraction of the price.

A year and a half ago I started a company to sell board gaming tables. These are super nice tables. Each one is custom hand built by woodworkers with decades of experience.

Of course, when you're talking about custom woodworking, it comes at a price (generally $2500+). We've sold a bunch of tables, but I've also heard one repeating refrain. It goes something like this: "Your tables are amazing. I'm sure they are worth every penny. But it's a lot more than I am looking to spend on a table."

Your voice has been heard. That is feedback I cannot ignore.

The Duchess keeps the most popular features from our custom tables, but makes three changes to make them much more affordable.

1. Standardization - We're limiting the number of options available to streamline production.

2. Some assembly required - The table will ship in 12 pieces that you will assemble at home. This makes production and shipping cheaper. Don't worry, anyone can do it with just a screwdriver.

3. Bulk production - Economies of scale drive the price down if we build a bunch of tables at once.

It's a cool table, I'd want something bigger and more customized, which is why I'm going to build my own.

Your plans are really cool. If I was in the same situation as you, I think I would be considering something similar.

He's building a house and is going to have a game room with a cool table he is building himself: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69220-the-buildening-ub3rs-new-home-wip/

Well, I pledged. I took another look at GeekChic and BoardGameTables.com's other lines and realized that as cool as they are, I'll never be able to afford or justify one of them, but this is something that I really think hits my sweet spot and I do need a new dining area table anyway. :)

Another “large collection of miniatures” kickstarters, reminiscent of the recent Blacklist Games Fantasy kickstarters.

I am tempted, even though it covers a lot of things we already have.

Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity – Three Mini Role-Playing Games

Three ready-for-adventure mini-game boxed sets for your RPG game night, featuring the Tri-Stat System used in BESM Fourth Edition RPG.

If you're looking for role-playing games that are concise enough to crack open and start playing right away, yet sufficiently robust and evocative to support longer campaign play as well, you've come to the right place.

Welcome to the Kickstarter for the first three Tri-Stat System Mini-Game Boxed Sets – a new line of compact and complete role-playing adventure games that are compatible with Dyskami Publishing's flagship BESM Fourth Edition anime and manga RPG. Tri-Stat System creator Mark MacKinnon has distilled and customised the complete system into distinct streamlined versions for each of the three adventure games – targeting their specific genres and background settings in easy-to-understand boxed sets.

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – it's time for your next great role-playing adventure!

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – These boxed set RPGs are games of adventure, exploration, battle, heroism, romance, and imagination. Yet unlike in a traditional board game, the possibilities for exploration and action in these role-playing game are endless.

Each of the three role-playing adventure games contains the following components:

a 32-page full-colour rulebook that gives your group everything you need to play, with sections on character abilities, magical spells/paranormal powers, weapons and equipment, enemy encounters, items and equipment, and guidelines for integrating the Tri-Stat System game with the compatible BESM Fourth Edition RPG
6 brief story scenarios so you can start playing adventures right away
6 pre-generated player character sheet handouts, with game stats and illustration
4 custom-etched dice specific to that boxed set

You can pledge for one, two, or all three of these boxed sets during the Kickstarter.

      ...

I know know nothing about these creators or the system, but I decided to back for Pixies entirely because of that picture of the corgi. 👀
