So, what's next for CAV

JOR II models are back on track for release, 3rd Printing rulebook is coming up in the layout queue, and there's an honest-to-goodness fluff novel in the works as well. What would you like to see next for CAV in terms of models?

 

No particular order:

 

1)Scenery. Quality Buildings and terrain in N-scale.

2)Static weapons emplacements. I know we've seen rules for them in a Casket Works but I would like official models and rules.

3)Support Vehicles. 2.5 ton trucks, tankers, recovery vehicles, etc.

4)Psyros

Ooh... good topic starter Erion...

 

1) CAV gives GREAT guidelines in the rules for terrain parameter, so I'd love to see them come up building type terrain. I've purchased and used to much success the JR miniatures industrial complex terrain. Great stuff. I've also managed to use felt material and paint markers to make some great highway/roads, and rivers at very little cost. With all the colors out there the options are almost endless. Tree and hill terrain is too common, so that's why I vote for more N-scale buildings.

 

2) The local FLGS owner has come up with a campaign setting and he's opted to use Hedgehogs as ambulances and Whisper and/or Ripper missile trucks as salvage vehicles. We're all excited about it.

 

3) Psyros... personally I'm not liking that idea and don't think it'll be good for the game... but then again I'm not the expert.

Wait a minute...

CAV is coming out with a new novel? Other then the Big Dance?

 

Also I'd like to see more info on the races of the CAV universe perhaps they can fit that in with the JoRIII? I've been wonder if their are female Rach or if they reproduce laying their egg in disembowl corpse of their slain enemies?

 

(Yes I know there are female Rach I just trying to be funny at 3:30 in the morning. But still it makes you wonder?)

After Greens, What more do you need for infantry???? ::D:

 

I would like to See some Psyros, or perhaps some Updated Torsos for CAVs that have been "assumed" by Psyros to reflect the AI Control.

 

Perhaps a Nice Cheap plastic set for buildings.... four walls, detachable from one another..... one sdie with a CAV sized print / Sticker, and the other for something 25 - 28 mm for other REAPER Games....

I think some Psyro minis would be cool. And you could do both kinds as well, the proper Psyros and assimilated CAV's and other assorted vehicles which would be cool as well.... like when you stare across the table at a CAV and completely miss the main weapon swap... only easier :o)

 

Saint of Sinners, there's already ejected crew models. You use the regular infantry and only put two guys on a base instead of the usual four... they're armed with GP-11 rifles if that helps. Although some more comical poses might be nice, but in N scale I think it'd be lost on most people and so I doubt it'd be worth Reaper's while to go to the expense of making moulds.

yeah I guess that would work Still it just not the same as have as having a tiny figure with their arms raised up in surrender then taking a puma and flaming them :devil:

 

on the Psyro minis I'd like to see them packaged with multiple parts that you could mix and match So you can have a multiple of different looking psyro. My take on them is that none of them look the same.

I meant to respond to this a long time ago, but It's just been slipping through the cracks.

 

I honestly can't see a Psyro force as being a viable tournament option (though I'm sure some will try). This is primarily because it drastically limits the available resources that player would have to draw from (there are only three sets of stats, after all).

 

I would like to see the models because the concept sketches we've seen are very nice, and they would make a great scenario addition.

Some 'nasty' CAVs might be interesting...

 

In any sci fi universe there's always room for some nastiness; depraved pirates turned slavers, or simply outfits consisting of psychos and religious wackos, who 'decorate' their CAVs with chains, spikes, perhaps even crucified bodies and the like...

You don't say? In fact Pirates could be cool

 

Use some GW spikey bits... and skulls.

 

I am lucky as a local store SELLS used bits, so when the mood for converting strikes it is easy.

 

Another choice go to your local model shop, if they have stuff for making wooden model ships, you will be able to get chain in scale. We have used those for conversions for GW games, but I am sure they will also fit a nice CAV

 

By the way, if anybody is getting rid of the BFG Chaos ships, some of the escorts have skulls on top that are failry easy to cut off, and use.

Of course you could always use the skull set that Reaper makes, some are down right freaky by the way.
