Now there is a happy looking Lizard Guy/Gal/Thingy. It must be the UBERCOOL base he gets to stand on that is making him so merry. Have FUN with him/her/whatever.

Thx AL,

I will, fun is the major drive for me to do this.. I'm enjoying myself making up the stories and painting all kinds of creatures.

And I think it is a male, most girls would use a much more practical weapon, males go for the bigger the better style.

...it's the old macho "my-club-is-bigger-than-yours" thingy.

Excellent choice; I love those lizard man sculpts!

So do I, as you may have noticed I have a lot of scaly and slithering things now in my box of soon to be painted minis..

I will paint the mini that appeals to me the most at that moment , or what comes up in the stories.. so I won't be painting snakes for a week and then lizards.

Variation.. keeps me going. That and the motivational comments and likes by you people!!! ^_^

We have been following the adventures of our treasureseekers, do you wonder what happened with Captain Gonzales?

*****

Her Majesty's Swordfish had reached open sea, leaving the Lost world behind.

Captain Gonzales stood on the upper deck, enjoying the wind.

The sky was blue, the wind was blowing in the right direction.

He loved how the ship danced on the waves.

Already he had made plans.

He had carefully written down the coordinates and the route to the Lost World.

One day he would return to claim the treasures for himself.

All he needed was a sponsor.

That could become a problem, The golden plaque that Luigiano took with him was the only proof of the existence of the Lost World and the Golden City.

He needed to come up with something.

WHALE!!!!! a sailor shouted, pointing at a large shape at portside.

Gonzales ran to the railing.

The whale was a few yards away, when suddenly it raised a long serpentlike neck.

A large round body with flippers instead of legs was shortly visible when it moved faster.

That's no whale!!!

What in the name of all that's holy is that??

The sailors stood in awe, watching the large creature swim alongside the ship.

The neck plunged into the water, the water started to bubble, suddenly colored red.

When the neck came up again, the creature had a prey in it's mouth.

With a sickening feeling in his stomach Gonzales recognized a Great White Shark, helplessly in the serpent's mouth.

The creature swallowed the shark and then it looked at the ship.

Gonzales saw the neck turning in his direction.

MAN THE CANNONS!!!!!! GET SOME RIFLES UP HERE!!!!

The men hurried.

Gunports opened, the creature submerged.

Where is it? A sailor asked.

Gonzales looked at the sea, pistol in hand.

Then he noticed a shadow in the water.

It is swimming under the ship!!!!

To Starboard!!!!!

He ran to the other side of the ship, followed by a few sailors now carrying musquets.

Suddenly the long neck appeared next to the railing, Gonzales looked into the eyes of the creature.

It seemed to possess a certain primal intelligence.

The creature seemed to look at the ship and the tiny men crawling all over it.

Then the mouth lunged forward and a screaming sailor dissapeared into the creature's belly.

FIRE!!!!

Two sailors fired their musquets, the bullets bounced off of the creature.

Annoyed it attacked again, the head smashing through the wood of the upper deck, a sailor barely escaped.

CANNONS!!!!! Gonzales screamed.

The gunports opened, the men worked frantically to get the moving creature in their sight.

A volley was fired, one cannonball hit the creature.

It roared in pain, it's massive body almost jumped out of the water, a large wound in it's side where the cannonball had struck.

AGAIN!!!!

Another volley was fired. The creature took two more hits, and Gonzales saw the eyes go lifeless.

WE GOT IT!!!

The creature floated dead in the water. Already sharks were attracted by the blood.

Gonzales looked a the scene before him and realised that this was a chance.

I want the head! he screamed.

A sailor looked at him in disbelief, what?

We need it Gonzales said.

If we show that skull when we get home, we will have evidence that this place exists.

There will be plenty of sponsors then!

A barge was lowered, the sailors kept the sharks at bay with large spears and firing musquets.

They harpooned the neck and reeled it in.

Part of the neck and the head now lay in the barge.

Hacking and sawing with axes and swords they beheaded the creature.

The barge started to make water. Some sharks got closer.

HURRY!!!!

Freed from the head, the neck slipped back into the water, blood leaking from it, sharks went into a frenzy and the sailors backed away as fast as possible.

Back to the ship.

It took ten men to carry the head on deck.

Gonzales looked at it.

We will have to strip it from flesh, the skull must be preserved.

I'm sure some nobles will be willing to pay for another expedition when we show them this.

This time we will stay in charge ourselves, no more upstart  Army officers, Gonzales said.

Somebody start repairing the deck, he ordered.

He looked at the sharks feasting on the dead creature's body.

Some scientists would have a field day examining that skull.

They would pay handsome just to get a look.

He smiled at the thought.

Fortune was with him.

I thought for sure The Creature was going to single out Gonzales for retribution. Despite being wrong, that is YET ANOTHER GREAT STORY!

Thank you!

I do not pretend to be a real writer, but I love to make up some sort of background story.

It keeps me focused on what to paint.

It's nice to see people are enjoying it with me.

Cool story!!

Fair winds and following seas to the good captain; he needs to get home safely so that he can raise another group of explorers. You're running out of appetizers bait victims for your reptiles.

Now that would be a sight..

An expedition making its way through a jungle discovering an ancient civilization, only to discover they're on the menu..

Anyway.

I started on the base for the Tyrant.

Reaper Walnut Brown, Jungle Moss, Muddy Olive

Scale 75 Fuchsia, Slimer Green, Necro Grey.

Also included something I found on the internet, this is the inspiration for the Tyrant. I will more or less do something like this...allowing artistic freedom of course.

A little Scale 75 Despair Green and Vallejo Heavy Golden Brown.

I'm still thinking about how to paint the trophy shield on the back.

It is attached by chains, and supposed to be some kind of hide from an enemy.

Might become colourful...

I love Reptiles.

A little mix of Vallejo Heavy Golden Brown and Hot orange for the scales.

Scale 75 Decay Black for his nails/claws.

A little Reaper Flesh Wash on the Base.

I attached him to the base, used a little Milliput to blend him in and gave that a coat of Vallejo Heavy Grey.
