IT HAS BEGUN!!!

Very cool work so far on the T-Rex!

I really like the idea behind this project; it's going to be a lot of fun seeing it develop. Actually, you're starting to give me an idea.....

There are often snakes, frogs, lizards, skulls, or pieces of aztec/inca stonework on these bases.

The one I used for the Beloved of Sobek has a little poison dart frog on it for instance.

One of the reasons I love these bases, they're minis on their own.

I definitely agree with you there. I've got a fair collection of resin bases from various sources, and some of 'em I can't figure out where/how to attach a mini without hiding some of the cool detail.

Oh yeah!

I actually turned the T-Rex a few times to see a what angle the Snake would be most visible!

I'm very excited about this Army.

Today the first new recruits arrived and many more are on their way.

Together with the ones I already have and the bases it will be awesome to work on.

I will do other things inbetween though.

This might take a long time before it is a complete army ( and even then...when will it be "complete" ? )

There are a lot of cool minis I don't have ( yet) that could fit in too...

Rampagin Reptiles!!!!

Littlebit of Reaper Flesh Wash

and I defined the eyes with Vallejo White Flesh

More will follow.

I will paint all my reptiles and amphibians and Dinos in different colours.

For this T-rex I will loosely be inspired by the Madagscar Gecko.

Added Scale 75 Tenere Yellow, Reaper Cinnamon Red and Tropical Blue.

Needs much more work but slowly he's getting a pattern.

Somewhere between the Gecko and a Green Amazone Parrot and the Typical Fantasy stripes..

( In my youth my parents had a Green Amazone Parrot. He talked a lot and was a lot of fun, he could sing even. Sometimes he walked on the floor, and then he atacked my feet. running at me wings high, I always tought he was a descendant of a T-Rex, even before scientists decided that Dinos might be the bird's ancestors)

Purist, forgive me, I will happily include all Reptilian/Amphibian colourschemes in this army.

So don't be surprised when you find a Rattlesnake, next to a Boa or a Komodo Dragon next to a Greek Turtle.

This is Fantasy after all...

Reaper Tropical Blue for the belly/underside.

It will get a little toned down of course.

But another colour blocked in.

Comments and praises welcome.

Rotten fruits and bricks less so... Shields up!

LOOKIN' GOOD! Lizard Folk are one of the Fantasy Types I never developed any interest in; SO I have no advice to offer. However, I am enjoying what you are doing with all the stuff you've accumulated. You may even get me to paint a few.

Addendum: here is a link to a L/A.F. on tree making. The Jungle stuff should give ideas:

Thx!

Very Cool!

My favorite minis have always been Undead, Chaos and Reptiles..

I added some Reaper Blackened Brown to the markings.

I will need to touch up later and highlight and all, but this is pretty much the pattern now.

One of my favorite Fantasy races are the Undead, followed by Chaos and Reptilians.
I already have my Lost World Project which tells a tale of Conquistadores, Reptilians, Dinosaurs, and a lot more. And has some Undead in Jungle and or Pirate style in it.
My Shifting Sands project is all about Undead, Arabian and Egyptian style Undead.

This thread will be filled with my beloved Gothic Undead, Demons, Monsters and all things that go bump in the night.
In my Lost World Project I tell an ongoing story, here I will post about all other dark things without coherency.
There might be snippets of loose stories to accompany a mini or not...

I hope you guys and gals and creatures will like it.

Let's kick off with the critters I painted a while ago to get a feel of what is coming.

      Enjoy! ( or not)

Bats and a Murder of Crows

EDIT: I will include some Bones and minis. The bulk will be metal and I want to give the project an oldschool vibe/.
Preferred minis will be, Reaper, Grenadier, Ral Partha, Rafm, Metal Magic, Otherworld and Early Citadel.
The Asian Undead will be from Zenith since I backed the Kensei Undead Samurai KS and will get their own thread.  ( Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon) and the Egyptian ones are in Shifting Sands Project)

EDIT: Since the 3D printing bug bit me, the bulk will probably become 3d printed now.

EDIT - Asked to merge my Undead Threads into one.
      Now CHILDREN of the NIGHT.

This is for all the Ghotic Undead and their friends like Werewolves/Witches/Demons etc etc..

      Eldessa Necromancer

      Ral Partha Female Vampire

      Lurien and Aysa

      Bat Demon

One of the first figures I pulled out of the Bones5 core set was this guy. Had fun doing him in non traditional colors.

The flash made him look a little brighter than it really is.
