Lost World Project Glitterwolf Paints Coldblooded Creatures and Conquistadores

That looks pretty cool, good work!

Brass/Bronze would look good, especially with some corrosion/patina/verdigris.

Gold would look good too, but I don't know how to weather that...

Gold shouldn't weather much.

That's why I'm leaning to Bronze, might look better with verdigris and such..

Added the Lizardhead Ornaments.

And a little mock up.

Will alter the sacrifices/offers, but it gives you an idea.

I thought she was supposed to be a Goddess of Peace & Harmony.  The skulls are nice castings, but you don't get the "good" vibes by being surrounded by skulls...unless you're a G.W. designer.

The rest of the Shrine looks TERRIFICSPLENDID WORK!

Thx Al.

Being good doesn't mean that she doesn't slay her enemies.

These are the skulls of evil men that dared to defile her altar and try to steal the treasures of the land.

...I'll bet she isn't going to find many human followers; re, all the skulls are human.

Good Point!!!

I will need to add a few Lizard skulls and such too!

Hadn't thought of that.

Hmmm...Or...Those skulls are of her loyal followers, who got a resting place on her altar after they passed away...

Have to think about this.

Although I'm leaning to adding more skulls of other beasties...

I think of her as a benevolent binger of peace and harmony, but she isn't a pacifist.

Anyone upsetting the balance and considered evil could incur her wrath.

She will protect her people.

Of course I will balance it out with the sacrifices and offers that will mostly be stuff like fruits and treasure.

I was going to suggest something like this as a possibility.

I like that explanation. It does fit with the Goddess' alignment & is very plausible. The other skulls would work in either case.

I think I will go with the "resting place" then.

Those who serve Tanith and pass away are honoured by having their skull placed on the altar.

Tanith watches over their souls.

Yes...I think I will like this..

Just a thought, but you might help that image if you add some sort of adornments to the skulls, like gems, simple crowns, or even just colorful symbols painted on them;  like they are loved and honored. And paint them as if they are polished and cared for , not the browns and yellows of rotting skulls you usually see on evil architecture.

That's a great suggestion!

I will take care of that!

I have thought about this..

And then I thought about  Dias de los Muertos..

So there will be colourful skulls in there!

Storytime

**************************

Gonzales stood next to the Colonel, his men had brought some swivel guns to the walls and they were firing at the mass of insects.

A volley and a large scorpion exploded in a mist of goo and fire.

Hernando Alvarez grinned, he looked at his left.

His soldiers were throwing wood over the walls, if they could ignite it, there would be another burning barrier between the bugs and the walls.

He had to admit the Buccaneer had some good ideas, probably due to the fear of the bugs.

Gonzales personally threw a torch over the wall to ignite a pile of wood.

To his satisfaction the pile caught fire.

A few smaller spiders that were standing too close, burned to death.

Toni pointed at the centre of the enemy masses, there!

What's happening?

They saw the bugs move to make room for something.

Alvarez took his spyglass, he couldn't believe his eyes.

He looked again and gave the spyglass to Gonzales.

I think their Commander has just showed up, he said.

Gonzales took a look, he turned pale and trembled.

What sorcery is this? He said.

Toni watched in horror, trying to come to terms with what he saw.

SHE stormed through the lines.

Her troops making room for her to let her pass, those who weren't fast enough to move aside were eviscarated.

If you want something done, you have to do it yourself! She grumbled.

Finally she had reached the front rank.

Standing next to the immense Beetle she looked at the city before her.

Gonzales turned to Alvarez, have you ever seen something like this before?

The Colonel shook his head.

This is an abomination!

We must destroy her!

Gonzales looked through the spyglass again.

He could see her clearly now.

A gigantic beautiful woman, that's to say, her upper body was that of a beautiful young naked woman.

Her lower half was that of a huge spider!

And the colour of her skin was unnatural.

Did he just noticed pointed ears?

This is a Demon! He uttered.

We must kill it or we will all be damned!

Alvarez ordered the gunners to fire.

A volley was fired.

He could see some of the insects being hit and killed, but the bullets never reached the Demoness.

A faint blue light formed a barrier between her and the bullets and absorbed them, leaving her unharmed.

Magic! Gonzales whispered.

Toni shouted at the Colonel. SIR!!! Look!

He pointed to the sky.

Alvarez and Gonzales looked up.

They saw some large flying lizards circling over the city.

Great! Alvarez snarled.

Reptilians!

Cantor had sent his flyers to scout the area.

They would soon reach the city.

Let's hope they would be in time to kill the Paleskins themselves.

He had seen the vision.

They were not the only ones interested in taking the city!

Unknown female vampire figure I picked up in a boxed game set.  Can't remember the exact name or manufacturer.  Box art showed them in purple, I wanted to explore other colors.  I see her as the kind of vampire that likes to play with her food and enjoys a bit of lively sport. I have 2 of her sisters to do in other colors.

The photo is a bit washed out from the flash.  Her skin is a pale grey, different than her white gloves.  Casting on the face is strange, she has an odd shaped mouth, and no nose so I painted one on.

And what's a graveyard setting without some undead wolves to harry the party in the snow?

Finished these off. Really easy to paint and enjoyed the process. Reaper Razig shown on right for scale.
