Where is everyone staying?

Recommended Posts

Well, I stand corrected.

I have to apologize, I read what I said and it came off rather harsh. I didn't mean it to come off as anything but informative and sometimes that gets lost in text. I truly hope you attend again and can get a room where you want.

I'm used to acting like it's a Dragoncon hotel. Rooms open now! -5 seconds later- and they're gone

So i book fast, book early

If you'll have a car, there is a Best Western which is further away, but still within 5 minutes of Lewisville and the convention site.

If not, there are a few other options right by the Hilton Garden Inn and the Fairfield Inn including Spring Hill Suites, Hampton Inn, and Courtyard by Marriott.

And it appears the alternate site is filled up too.  ::(:

I'm not seeing that on those dates.

Call the Fairfield's toll free number from their web site and book with a real person.

The only thing that was filled on the Marriot site was Sunday but I think that is the site using the Reaper rate for that day (which is NOT included). I'd hope they open more then a few rooms. This is starting to have the feel of the year the Con was split up (first year of using HGI but at a alternate hotel (the one in Denton). Which for me was crappy......

Anyone looking for roommates? I know I could wait for the other thread to open, but feels too late now if it does unlock.

I might be inclined to share a room. I don't know. I'm not really comfortable with strangers, and I snore.

I think most of us snore.

We are having a new block of rooms opened up to be included in the rate, Additional rooms have been added. I am told that you must use the link provided on ReaperCon.com (also here) and that there may be difficulties when calling the 800 number and trying to access the rate.

To Book by phone, call the hotel directly (mention ReaperCon 2016):

Fairfield Inn & Suites - Dallas│Lewisville

2697 Lake Vista Dr.

Lewisville, TX 75067

T: 972.899.6900

F: 972.899.6901

If they call the Fairfield/Marriott's 1-800#, then they will need our group code: RPCS

We hope to have ReaperCon passes added to the ReaperCon site before July4. (fingers crossed).

If there is ever a difficulty getting rooms, send me a PM and I'll try to get it resolved - by adding a new block or by adding a new hotel if necessary.

I'm sorry if I'm being dense, but the info for the new hotel on the Reapercon site says we need to book by April 15, and then goes on to say the Reaper rate is good until September 27. Am I missing something here?

You're not missing anything. I missed it.

The quick explanation is that in order to get the data up quickly I copy pasted the information from 2015's website and then changed the details where necessary. Then I clearly missed that one sentence about April 15 and uploaded the page with both the old date and the new date. A revised page with the 2015-reserve-by-date has been posted.

That's why I normally travel with EARPLUGS. Enough for everyone!

And I'd be willing to share a room, assuming separate beds.

Only 359 more days till the Meet and Greet!!!

Per the magnet from the swag bag, ReaperCon 2016 is April 28-May1.
(Like most timey wimey physics type sciences, this is is only an approximate time frame and may be subject to but not exclusive the following conditions: The chance the hotel might lose the reservation. Important holy days on the Space Calendar, Quantum Mechanix,  Faster than light travel, Goblin invasions, Paint shortages, Bones III release announcements, Brian's hat achieving world domination,  Ryan Reynolds announces that he is Deadpool in real life, Pingo licks a brush, Chitauri invasion,   Soonâ„¢)

Goals for me for next year:
Enter a piece into painters worthy of 3 bronze votes
      Take Teh Girlfriend
      Costumes
      Custom ribbons
Run late night survival speed paint
Build an orphanage for all my excess dice. (I gave away lots this year but I still came home with at least a pound of excess)
Hang out with Doc Bedlam for at least an hour.

      Bonus Goal(s):
Enter a piece into each of the paint contest

Like last year, this thread is to find roommates and transit. Being the con isn't at the hotel rides may be more important.

My situation: Room full at 4 Wednesday through Monday.
Rides unknown as flights not booked, but looking at noonish arrival Wednesday, into dfw, out if dfw Sunday around 7, maybe Monday if I can get the time off then. Either way I'll need help with transit if possible.

      On your marks...get set...

The ReaperCon painting competition is open to miniatures and models from all companies, In light of that fact we have started to invite other miniature manufacturers to provide prizes for the best painted version of their products at the show. In 2015 we had the following manufacturers provide prizes for the best painted versions of their company's miniatures: Red Box Games, Dark Sword Miniatures, DGS, Hasslefree Miniatures and Secret Weapon Miniatures.

I will use this thread to let folks know which manufacturers will be providing prizes in addition to those you can earn when entering the ReaperCon 2016 Painting Competition. I'll update this first post with additions to the list as we get closer to the con.
