Where is everyone staying?

Just booked my hotel room at the Marriott for the 20th-23rd, I'll fly in early on the 20th, leave out later on the 23rd.

ETA: I got a room with 2 Queen beds, when the other thread opens up about roommates I may see if someone wants to split at that time.

Decided that Reapercon comes once a year, and the woodshop will be there a long time, did you?

Yep, I am also going to work hard at getting more commissions done and saving up for the next 4 months. May sell a few other figures that I won't paint any time soon too.  I think I should be able to afford the house stuff and save up enough this way to not take any away from the house budget.

REAPERCON!!! RAAAAAAA!!!!  :wow:

Will there be more rooms added to the ReaperCon block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites? They had King Suites ($89) earlier today, but those are apparently no longer available through the ReaperCon block. I can still book a King Suite through Marriott's website, however, but not at the $89 rate.

EDIT: Nevermind, they're available again! Canceled the original, rebooked. Whew!

We're staying at the Country Inn & Suites. My wife was able to get the booking for less than the special ReaperCon rates being offered by the other hotels, and it's a bit closer to the event.

The Egg

The two hotels that have ReaperCon rates have free shuttles to/from hotel to the Con. So unless you are renting a car (or walking) that's an added cost.

I have a room booked in the HGI Reapercon block... Does that mean that my neighbours in the hotel are likely to also be Reapercon guests? Or do they just reserve that number of rooms arbitrarily scattered through the hotel?

Dunno how they determine which rooms are in the blocks they give for their events. I recall having a few ReaperCon people near my room and a few classrooms, but they were also spread out among different floors so I'd guess it's a number of rooms and scattered throughout the hotel.

I'm curious about this: does anyone know how often a shuttle will run?

This is my first time attending ReaperCon, so forgive me if I'm asking stupid questions. Then again, if this is the first time it's being held at the Premier Event Center, I guess this is new for everyone!  :;):

Last few years it's been AT THE HOTEL, but if I had to guess I'd say once per hour that the shuttle would make a circuit. But that's only my guess and I'm sure after the weekend is over, Bryan may come in here and let us know for sure the shuttle schedule. Edited by ub3r_n3rd

It would probably be about a 15 min trip from those hotels to the event venue.  I could see them taking people from hotel...waiting 15 more min and then going back with anyone.. lather and repeat.  It just depends on how much they want to spend on gas for the shuttle during the days.  Either way it sounds like a pain for them so anything they do is a nice bonus for those of you not wanting to drive.

There should now be a room in the Reaper block open at the Marriott.  I had one both at the Hilton and the Marriott until I decided where I wanted to stay.  I have made up my mind on the Hilton and cancelled the Marriott one.  Get it while you can!
