The pads are 50mm squares at Â£5 each.

Looks like almost all of the pads are taken from previous larger pads from Basius 1 and Basius 2.

If you've not used the Basius pads before, the stamping pads are very well sculpted with good, deep detail.  I'm quite happy with the pads that I've gotten from the previous projects.

Wow!

Which ones are your favorites?

I'm thinking eight pads, mostly generic fantasy but I have other genres (sf, Cthulhu) and would like suggestions which to get!

I'm new to bases. Anyone tried "Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty" or other cheaper materials?

After shipping, it's about $10 per base. Still a little pricey, but I guess I'm on the fence for now.

They have several patterns I could imagine would be good for display bases, but... most are still 'locked' and with no info on at which level of funding they unlock.

Oh , and I checked their homepages...

There's an Orc Princess there that looks worth collecting.

I wonder what the  'warmaidens' is that's 'coming soon'...

EDIT: Never mind the basius stuff. They only ship to 'certain countries', and Norway isn't on the list.

EDIT2: But they do ship to Norway from their normal webshop... 32mm Orc Princess ordered...

Durhams is a fancy plaster, so I imagine it chips easily. And it absorbs moisture... So it's probably a bit of a pain to paint with our normal acrylics.

You can make 'quite a few' bases with $10 worth of a proper material such as Green Stuff, Milliput Fine or similar epoxy-based putties.

Its about $10 AUD before shipping.... pricey, yes.  BUT I'm happy with the big pad for the forest floor, I enjoy using my HS stamps....

Soooo I'm considering it.

I had a look and if all of them unlock there are about 10 -12 that I really like.  Fantasy types.  And natural types (rocks etc)

Over in his CAV terrain thread, roebeast45 has been using Durhams for the little buildings. In the video, he stated he likes it for the mixture of strength and light weight, so it might be useful for these bases. He didn't mention any troubles getting them painted.

That's kinda what I thought.

yeah, that's why I like it ... I just could not bring myself (and not afford) the forest pad last time, for example. I also found that I use the same part of my big pads again and again and that some textures on them never get used. So smaller ones that have more focus are just what I need.

I agree. I'll definitely have to think about this.

Alright. I just backed my first basius kickstarter. I kept looking at the other ones, but I wanted a little more bang for my buck. This was exactly what I wanted. I backed for 8 of them, and I'm going for the most different ones I can get!

      Hi chums!

This is the latest Kickstarter project, expanding our fantasy range this time, and bringing light to the ones we have that might not have been noticed. Along with some super cool female minis, we have some brand new scenics too, and a whole bunch of add on bundles.
I'll post more on the lead up, but for now if you're interested, could you click the "notify me" on the pre launch page and it will help the algorithms, and you know algorithms are the new gods!

A new kickstarter from Crooked Dice. I've been following the publicity for this and it really appeals to me. Lots of very colourful figures and most of them are a nice change from the usual predictable gun-toting heavies. I've collected plenty of Crooked Dice figures over the years and always been very pleased with the quality.

      Story
Welcome everyone to the Kickstarter campaign for Sun & Moon. Two highly detailed 1:20 scale (90mm) resin kits  cast in high quality resin. Sun Is roughly 100mm to the top of his head!
Sun & Moon comparisment: Sun stands at nearly 100mm!!!
This has been the project that has been the longest in the works and also our most expensive one to date! We could really use your help to bring these two kits onto the market so we do hope that you like what you see and will be able to back us and help us spread the word! :)
      Story
Many years back, the idea to do some themed knights popped into my head and out of all of those, Sun & Moon were the ones that really stuck and kept coming back in my thoughts.  The idea to do two characters that are opposites of each other in every way really appealed to me.
      Sun
You have the Sun Knight, devout follower of the Sun God, a fiery and strong warrior with everything about him representing his deity. I can just see him painted in bright and warm colours that embody the very essence of the Sun!
      Moon
And then you have the Moon Knight, a cool and brooding figure that operates under the cover of darkness, guided by the wisdom of the Moon Goddess. Very much a deadly warrior in her own right! Painted in moody hues that represent the colours that only moonlight can shower the world in.

Pretty straightforward, a lady with more or less clothes.

Introducing "Misa, a Night to Remember"!
On our store there is already an alternative version of Misa. In this project we decided to make it with more accessories, and through the objects, a different pose and always ... less dressed!
She will be available in 75mm as well as 32mm scale, base and fullbody. By pledging you will receive the .STL files (unsupported and pre-supported) once the campaign has ended.
      So Happy 3D Printing everyone!
