A quickie batch of Mantic "Kings of War" Salamanders, done up as cave-dwelling Troglodyte types.

Had an issue with some fuzzy primer with these games...curse you, southern Virginia.  Thought I fixed it, but the photos betray it...

Those are nice minis, maybe I'll get a unit for my Lost World Army.

Well painted. the fuzzy primer is not that bad since these are lizards.

I had a problem with fuzzy antishine once, I solved it by applying brush on sealer afterwards. Maybe that might work for this too.

I'll have to try that out.  It didn't show up too badly on this set (other than the leader with fiery sword's mouthline), but the other set of Halflings I posted more recently got hit worse due to their nature.  Do you remember what brand of sealer you used?

In my case I sprayed Army Painter Antishine and that got fuzzy.

As soon as I saw that I applied REAPER Brush on Sealer. This smoothened things out. So I didn't let it dry completely

It actually happened to the my ANGEL CITY DIORAMA, on Peaches and The Ladies of the Night.

If you look at that you'll notice that it helped a lot.

Why are they all picking on that poor little frog?

Cool figures!

Hmm, could be like the Monty Python's Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. In which case why aren't they running?

Excellent, I think I have a batch of that from Kickstarter I, I'll have to find it.

That diorama is so amazing, I'd never have been able to tell you had primer issues.

Cool figures!

He's their mascot!  (and actually from the Naiads kit, who also have a great Otter on the sprues.  Mantic's stuff usually has extra familiars/guys to build swarm units, but the Salamanders only came with extra flames)

Fresh off the painting table come the Dwarf Adventurers II from Stonehaven Miniatures.  Their first Kickstarter, another set of Dwarfs, was the second Kickstarter I ever backed!

First, a group of the "traditional" Dwarfs, if any of them can be called as such.

One of my favorites of the set, a Dwarf Barber:

Here are the Dwarfs I thought would work better as Duergar.

My Duergar take some inspiration from World of Warcraft's Dark Iron Dwarfs, not just having white hair.  Gives them a bit of variety.

      Dead Tom:

And preparing for Eberron, the Dwarforged:

Fresh from their latest Kickstarter, here are some Mercenaries from MOMMiniaturas.   They're really making me want to play Mordheim again.

      The Ogres:

      A Witch Hunter type:

A self-portrait that I had to get as an add-on:

A very obvious remake of one of Mordheim's first special characters, Johann the Knife:

The rest of the Empire-style mercenary scum:

Here's some shots from the penultimate session of our D&D game.

The party finally confronts the Sewn Sisters.
The tiles are from "Dwarven Forge" and "Secret Weapon".  The tables, chairs, and most props are from "Mantic:Terrain Crate", with the cauldron being from an Old Glory Crones set.
The Scarecrow & Leomon (Half-Elf Paladin) are from "Reaper Bones".
The rest of the party are 3D prints, from HeroForge, Desktop Hero, and Miguel Zavala.
The Sewn Sisters are 3D prints from DarkRealms.
Everything was hand painted by myself.

      Cradle of the Death God.
      The tiles are Dwarven Forge.
The party are 3D prints, with designs from Hero Forge, Desktop Hero, and Miguel Zavala. (One is a Reaper Bones piece)
The Soulmonger is a 3D print designed by Miguel Zavala.  The God That Never Was is a 3D design by Duncan "Shadow" Louca.
Everything was painted by myself.  I also added LEDs.

I figured it was time to work on some Elves.  They're definitely the smallest part of my painted collection.

The first batch is all from Reaper Miniatures.

      These are the metal ones:

The Drow who snuck in (from the box of Goodwill, no less)

More from Reaper, but this time in Bones:

      And the others.  Mostly Stonehaven

Kislev lives on in our hearts forever.

I've continued my theme of building the Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago Crew with a Steppes feel.  The majority of these are built using bodies and arms from the Crew kit, with some Empire/Mordheim heads and other outsourced bits.

The last batch wound up being more generic Pirate types.
