July 2016 Hobby & Painting Goals

It's the start of another month!

 

What are your hobby/painting goals for the month?

 

Mine is again to paint 4 figures.

Hope to get rid of the blahs and paint 4.

Mine are close to last months:

 

1) 4 more Zombicide Walkers

2) Finish another 2 mini's I have started in my WIP's

3) Start working on one or both mini's I had planned as gifts for family.

This will be my month of demons! 

 

I order an extra set of bones 2 demons.  Ape, Fly, blood, bat and vulture. 

I have decided to paint them up in pairs one red, one black .

lets see how many I finish.

Oil portraiture starts this month.

April May was definitely a crazy month for me too! Here's to time in May June for hobbies!

 

- Finish sculpting big deer for my mother-in-law (in time for Mother's Day)

- Sculpt some small items for the Box of Goodwill that aren't destroyed by small, furry children

- Sew a dress for summer!

 

Because finishing the first 3 on May's list isn't enough.... 

 

- Get base colors on my rainbow hydra~ He's primed at the moment.

- Work on cosplay! 

 

Where did June even go??? Send help....

 

- I'm almost done with the deer! I got a ton done, it should be done this week.

- I have been sculpting, but I'm not done yet! They'll have to be done when I get the box in.

- I am still seam ripping the dress I am going to be using for the pattern.... I should at least be able to finish that this month, goodness.

- My hydra has 3/5 base colors on him..... 2 to go...

- I have been working on cosplay! I'll be continuing that this month.

My goal for the month is fairly simple: less video gaming, more painting.  Three days in I'm 0 for 3, but I have resisted the lure of the Steam Summer Sale and just added a few things to my wishlist.

LOL  The ones I am working on already have the curled mustaches...  I'm working on a rather large mix of Russian Alternative Dwarves of Fire Canyon and old GW Chaos Dwarves from the 90's.  I'm trying to collect all of both lines.

Speed-painted 8 slimes using inks and sealer mix. 

 

Working on speed painting some Reaper (bones) mountain trolls using ink+sealer (like Froggy does) rather than liners.

Where did June go? ugh seems like, it was taking forever to get to July and then, wham, month's gone. Of course we're all on summer vacation here (note that's not a vacation for mom, just means I'm home with the kids 24/7 instead!)

 

Anyway, July goals:

 

finish my exchange mini (want to be able to mail a bit earlier case it takes little longer)

working on my orks for 40k (dakkadakkadakkaBOOM)

More frostgrave minis - hoping to round out my own warband with *mouslings* Squee! They've been sitting on my desk staring forlornly at me for a couple months now :(

And more work hopefully on my terrain board project

My July goals are to finish Narthrax and maybe Nethyrmaul. We'll see how we go. As they're both pretty big, I feel like reaching for anything else may just make me panic, but I do have other minis I really should paint... 

 

That said, I also have non-mini things I have to finish. Imma stick with the two dragons as my targets for this month

Hopefully, in the non-mini side of stuff, I'll make general progress... Though most specifically, I'm hoping to start scaling my dragon puppet.
