I don't find this at all surprising. :lol:

I might end up going with Disciples, since I like their icon the best. That's totally a legit way of deciding which group to belong to, right? :huh::upside:

I was immediately drawn to Bonehenge's skull so I read that one first. So no, I don't question your legitimate decisions. :lol:

I'm personally torn between Disciples of Cthon and Knights of the Maggotcrown, myself. Leaning toward the Disciples though. :wub:

I picked the Shark faction one year based on logo...

...but if I get to go I will be the faction that was Chevrons with a Skull...I have two shirts.

I have no idea which one I like best...  :blink:

Yep.

You need to know which one is opposed to Frost Giants...

Good thing you have till October to decide. Stay tuned, there are more sneak-peeks on factions, setting, and scenarios coming soon!

1. Buy ticket;

2. Later, buy classes;

3. Lastly, pick a faction...?...if we don't pick a faction will the Court Space Pope appoint one for us?

Faction can be changed at any time right up until we turn off tickets (and of course, we still have to turn them on!). Anyone who fails to choose a faction will be assigned a faction like so:

We identify the number of attendees in each faction. We assign unaffiliated attendees into the least popular faction until it equals the most popular. Then we assign the remainder into the next least, and then the next least, until all attendees have been assigned.

I don't recall what faction I had last year.  I couldn't find a sticker or anything on my badge. Or the one from the year before. I think they were both randomly assigned.  I remember playing faction games the year of the carnival theme, and chasing coins and badges.  And I remember playing the shark faction the year of the pirates theme.  Karkarion would be a wicked cool Warlord army.  I think at the smaller cons we had a larger percentage of people able to get into the games.

Has that ever worked?

I could see that winding up where Pirates (frex) were wildly popular ... and there were not enough unassigned people to make any of the other three equal to the Pirates.

Whether that actually makes all items even or not is kind of beyond the point. It's the fairest way to delegate the uncommitted.

I had a socialism joke ready to go for this, but I can't do purple from my work computer so I left it alone. Imagine I said something both corny and witty.

I'll be introducing a change to the way we store the faction data later today - that should clear up your certificate issues, TGP.

It should also coincide with ticket sales going up, *fingers crossed*.

There are no "limited availability" ticket types - there's no cap to the regular tickets or VIP passes, so there's no real reason to give any sort of warning - don't worry, your ticket won't sell out before you can get one.

Beyond that, I'm genuinely expecting admission tickets (1-day, 4 day, and VIP passes) and on-site meal options to go on sale today, before I leave.

Classes will be announced before they go on sale, and launched at a time we specify, because of the aforementioned scarcity.
