My question is.  Is everything going to be mine and cavern themed?  Or are there going to be any other tiles introduced?  I know that sounds like it would be telling....but I promise you its not....

Mine/Cavern/Dungeon. SW has plans in the future for modern, sci-fi, and apoc. to the best of my current knowledge this particular KS Project encompasses the fantasy themes and does not delve into any of the non-fantasy themes SW is also known for,

Oh sorry That's not exactly what I meant by theme.  I meant like Cavern, Dungeon, Wood house that kind of thing.  However that is still good to know as a scifi one might be cool for infinity...

There will be some variations on the theme - and while nothing equating directly to, for example, an elven city, there should be a fun and interesting level of variety.

I wouldn't expect something like that. Though it would be cool to do a wood/Tudor tavern setting. You know...where the miners go to blow off steam....

Well, you know I can neither confirm nor deny...

What there will be, eventually, if it is unlocked, is there will be a Core and a Starter. That is, the Core right now is actually a Starter, and we're going to be adding more and more stuff to the Core until eventually it is two full starter sets in one box - a Core Box. Eventually you will be able to get a Core (two starters) OR just one starter, or like, 3 cores and 1 starter, or however you want to divide your pledge. In addition, there will be the ability to get things like the Wall Set that's being Unlocked now.

Core Set and Starter Set sound too synonymous to me, but I can't think of a better name for a set w/out SG's other than "Core Set (no Stretch Goals)" or "Retail Core Set".

As the Core Set pledge is written, the Core Set does not include the free pieces ("This reward gets you the Tablescapes Dungeons: Mines - Core Set, plus any unlocked Core Set Freebies. ")

fwiw, For The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary KS, they're called their non-SG pledge it a "bare bones copy".

Well, you know I can neither confirm nor deny...

At least we know where that Russian sub is. :D

Umm, I'm pretty sure that 'plus any unlocked core set freebies' does include the freebies.

I just added that part so that it wasn't necessary to go to the KS page and look up what the Core pledge has.

As written, the Core pledge suggests that the Core Set and the Core Set Freebies are two different things. So my point is that you don't want to then say the Core set includes the free items.

EDIT: Walls unlocked! Passages next. What are the total pieces with just the walls and with walls and passages?

Thanks to Cthulhu Dreams

42 in base set
22 in core walls
12 in core passage ways
6 in core floors
------
Total: 82

And... ObPic:

Wait... Wut? They have plans to do Caverns and Dungeons in this KS? Or separate KSers?

Any reason why you guys didn't lead with Dungeons rather then Mines? Yes, Mines hasn't yet been done by the 400lb gorilla of 3D terrain, but it's a very specific terrain type that may not have the same draw as dungeons. I'm backing this KS going in knowing that I'll probably only use my Mines sets a few times a year, where as Dungeons and Caverns gets used ALL the time. The Mines set have a decent mountainous cave look to them, but the number of pieces with planks and other artifacts really detracts from them being used as generic mountainous caves and really limits the set to Mines.

I'm going to venture that they did mines specifically because of what you mention, it hasn't been done by the 400 pound gorilla.

Mines have been done by Dwarven Forge and a number of other 3-d printed terrain companies.  I'm excited for this one.  It will be fun to watch this one unfold.

I could be mistaken but from the pics that have been shared here it looks like one side of the walls is more mine looking while the other is more cavernous looking.

The floors should be fine, especially if/when we unlock the SG for them. Should be easy enough to create dungeon/cavern/mine then.
