I agree. That's one of the things that makes paying a separate shipping fee okay, at least for me. I won't be needing four mine entrances, but they could possibly come in handy for a diorama or some sort of basing. The Orc Warrens are pretty sweet.

 

I'm hoping that they can ship out missing sets to the EU/ROW hubs before their fulfillment starts. Separate shipping would be much worse for them, and it seems like there might be time to get them the stairs before EU distribution starts. Hopefully Secret Weapon can take whatever's left and let domestic backers get the pieces they were missing at the cost of shipping. They'll need a restock to straighten everybody out, but I'm okay with waiting.

That would of course be a great solution for us Europeans ... but I'm willing to wait, even a year. If they re-order anything else and put in an order of stairs and then ship those stairs (free or at least at a reduced price), I'd be satisfied.

I don't know why they wouldn't simply check the core sets as soon as they got them. According the Bryan every core box is missing the three stair pieces. Seems like it would've been easy to figure out with a simple inventory of one core box. Double check it with another, then verify it with a couple more. Earlier Bryan said "I'm frustrated at myself for not catching this before we started shipping." It doesn't look like he's blaming this on China.

Seems they are developing another solution: If backers are ok with it, the stairs they have will be sent to AUS/Europe and to those US backers whose mines have not already shipped. Those backers whose mines were already shipped are asked to wait a bit for (another shipment?).

Thank goodness. That's a much better solution. I suggested pretty much the same thing two days ago here. Looks like they really do listen to backer opinions. I'm a US backer, but the thought of SW having to individually ship so many missing pieces around the world sounded crazy. Especially since EU/AU/ROW shipping wasn't going to begin for a while. It seemed like they had an opportunity to fix the worst problem before it began. I hope it works out. If it turns out badly I'll feel like a heel for pushing for that.

I was decidedly not happy with the originally proposed solution. Haven't been over to the KS page yet, but waiting or whatever and actually getting the stairs sounds infinitely better. Than not getting them or paying extra to get them or whatever. Ugh.

 

Anyway, does everybody need to pop over there to add voices to the chorus, or are we solidly heading that direction already?

It never hurts to add a voice to the chorus. They are still working on finalizing a solution, giving them more of a push in the right direction would be good.

 

Also, does anyone know how quickly they're anticipating sending out each wave in the US?

I'm glad they've already revised the solution by the time I got the forum.  I was not happy with the missing stairs staying missing, they felt like an essential part of the core set layout.

Now I wonder what will happen with the credits and the coupon code.

They have said a couple of times that they will honor the coupon code regardless of any changes to how they handle things. No update on the rebates, but that was to address a separate issue. I'd be surprised if they rescind the offer. I'm not clear on how the rebate works. People were asking if it was going to be store credit or a credit card refund, but I don't remember reading a clear answer.

I'm pissed and trying to figure out what things actually mean for me. Stairs and warrens were major reasons for me backing so not getting them or waiting would actually be a deal-breaker for me. Has anyone mentioned about the possibility of cancelling at this point?

I don't think cancelling is an option, but we will all get what we ordered, plus the possibility of a few extra pieces. It looks like the only backers who will have to wait for stairs are the ones that shipped out before SW discovered the core sets were missing the pieces. If your pledge hasn't shipped out yet, you should be 100% fine. If you ordered both the Orc Warrens you will definitely get them along with a $6 rebate (whatever that means). If you only ordered one part of the orc warrens you will get both parts.

I have no idea. Last communication I got was 1 year ago asking me to lock in.
