I got all my stuff in last week. It looks great!

Are people priming these? If not, do people think a thin base coat of spray paint would work, or is there a possibility of the surface going tacky?  The material is a pretty light color, so I'd like to make it uniformly dark before starting, in the easiest way possible. That way I can just build up layers of drybrush like I do with Dwarven Forge stuff.

I'm not priming them. I'm really trying not to obsess with quality -- they're terrain, not competition entries.

Instead, I'm just washing and then using a big brush (5/8" filbert) to slather on a base coat of undiluted craft paint. Sticks pretty well and gives me a good-enough coat.

And as others have noted, both DF tiles and SW tiles are PVC (as are Bones). They don't have the same amounts of plasticizer (which we think is the problem with spray primers), but it's the same plastic.

In the US and still no shipment....

Have you contacted customer service? I thought all their orders for the US went out about 2 weeks ago. I got mine 6 days ago, and I figured I was about the last. It's really unfortunate there were no shipping notices or tracking numbers. The delays don't bother me really; it's not knowing whether or not its even coming.

Got a reply.  From Bryan:

We have a small number of packages waiting for replacement product from a supplier. We weren't given quite enough paint, and have had to have more shipped. These packages will ship in the next few days. There will be an update tomorrow with the status of these 14 orders, of which yours is confirmed to be a part.

So if anyone else is like me and still waiting, this is why.

I had 12 different Secret Weapon washes before I saw the BGG thread, but I didn't have that color. I ordered the Stone wash based on that tutorial. It really is perfect for doing stone work. I also tried using SW Red Black, Algae, Purple, and Baby Poop washes along with Army Painter Soft Tone & Strong Tone, and even a little Citadel Fleshshade. The Stone wash really did standout. If I had to pick one that would probably be it. A few of the other colors are nice for some added visual interest. The Red Black and Purple weren't my thing though.

Eh, the Reaper Stone wash looked less stone than generic (light) grey. Still useful for shading white, I'd guess. I should play with it more. SWM's Stone is, btw, more of an underground wet stone, perfect for dungeons, but I'm not sure if I'd paint an entire castle with it.

SWM has a Concrete wash, although I'd use it on post-apoc city sidewalks before light-grey generic fantasy stone walls. Again, I should experiment more with it, but SWM's Stone is too easy to use.  Maybe Concrete for the initial wash, then Stone as a controlled wash in the crevasses??

Was one of the last people to get my order, it was missing pieces.  It's now been a week since I sent Bryan my last email (with a follow-up mid-week) regarding missing walkway sets and he has been silent.

It's really soured my perception of this line.  :(

Might help to know that Brian was at ReaperCon running a booth, so he's been a bit limited in his free time.
