Secret Weapon - Tablescapes Dungeons: Mines

And now I'm envisioning some crazy dwarf riding mine carts around running over skeles.

"Cart inserts" sounds like a great idea! These would be like base inserts, but would be stuck into the carts:

* Crazed dwarf miner

* Crazed miner with grizzled beard

* Cart-o-skulls (doubles as a skull pile?)

* Cart-o-cadavers

* Not-Indiana Jones and company

* Nazis-inna-cart

I know SWM has resin skulls, corpses, etc., but I'd like to see them in plastic for base bits and, of course, stuff for mine carts to run over:

* Skulls and skull piles

* Corpses, corpse bits, and corpse piles (for Shadows of Brimstone)

* Gem and crystal clusters

* Seven unlucky dwarfs.

Thank you ReaperBryan for that succinct comparison!  I have been searching for tiles and terrain and such.  Wanting comparisons to dwarven forge especially and have not found one nearly as good as yours.  Also I think its awesome that you are consulting with another company to make the best product....I wish more companies thought that way.

To be honest - this is Secret Weapon's project, and Secret Weapon's product. We're just helping them with the coordination and logistics, and of course with the KS itself. But really, Justin & Secret Weapon deserve ALL of the credit for the amazingness of the product!

So just out of curiosity, does the bones 3 mausoleum happen to line up with the tiles for this?

Does this pic help?

(The mausoleum is 4"x6", and while the buttresses overlap, it lines up nicely on the tiles.)

Keep in mind that mine pieces are just what they have shown so far.  If this is anything like a Bones KS (and I assume it could be given Reaper helping them out), there will be more reveals.  Maybe even other themes?  I have no inside knowledge, just thinking ahead and looking at the history of how a Bones KS has gone.  As well as recalling Bryan say that the base set will grow in size as more funding is brought in.

There's definitely more than one theme planned...

Any chance you could post a nice pic of the entrance?

Sure.

The mine theme is nice but a little too niche for my gaming needs. Now, if they happen to have a wall package I'll be in trouble. The Stones kickstarter supplied me with piles of floor tiles but no walls. I could use a ton of walls and these look like they might be somewhat compatible with Stones. That's where they'll get me.

Oh, there's wall sets, curved wall sets, and that kind of thing... Justin has put this together to be hard to resist  ^_^

And although the clear tiles are tiny but thinner than the others, here's how the walls stack up against some Stones tiles:

Now, These sets are really done with a caverns/mines theme - so the walls do look a little out of place against the Interior tiled floors that I used here, but you get the idea.

Speaking of which, anyone on the various Deadlands RPG forums or other western games?

How useful would this game tile set be for the game?

I've already posted on the lead-adventurers West forum, and had some good feedback.

I think it would be pretty good for Deadlands. I can't think of a single Deadlands game I ever played that we didn't go into at least one Mine.

Be sure to get copies to support painting them up as coal mines, gold mines, and Ghost Rock mines, though...

While I agree they deserve credit for the product. I don't know very many companies that would aid a competitor in anyway. That is almost unheard of. That gets respect in my book. Most companies would have stolen his ideas and upgraded their own product but you guys didn't. (I also just totally bought a bunch of stuff from them. Once I realized their Malice crypt floor were even with DF floors)

Most mini companies are pretty friendly with each other it seems to me. I know that Reaper has great relationships with DSM, RBG, Bombshell, and quite a few others. I don't find this surprising that Reaper is willing to help and lend their support to SW after seeing that a better product was available and much like their own ideas.

That's a fair statement, but to be honest we've got really good relationships with a lot of industry friends. Jim at Darksword sells his wares and is a judge at ReaperCon, and he sells our paint in his booth since we don't attend GenCon anymore.

We also have other companies that we have relationships with who promote their companies at ReaperCon, or sometimes have us cast their product, etc.

Bombshell, Frontline, Hangar18, DGS, Freebooter, Hasslefree, Victoria Miniatures, Talon Games, and probably a dozen more.

But we thank you very much for appreciating the extent to which we and our many friends in the industry, work together instead of viewing each other as competition and enemies. It's nice to know that you (collectively) appreciate that we all try to get along.

I'm speaking of businesses in general. Not specific to any one industry...but I have noticed it among smaller companies.

I think the reason why all these companies work so well together is that basically, they're all artists, not accountants.

Also, most companies are small, privately owned, and doesn't have a 'Board of Drow' only looking for short-term profit.

Er, about that bit about companies not run by accountants: Reaper is run partly by a couple of accountants.  ::):

Well to be fair, they are accountants who ARE artists also.

SWM FB FTW :lol:

"Tablescapes Dungeons includes modular stair cases, and "Stackers" in multiple sizes that allow you to create multi-level dungeons with ease. There are also several bridge designs, allowing you to cross above the dungeon floor, or rain destruction down on your party from above."
