Depending on your playing style. Mounted in a vehicle? AR rapid catching when walking? For those lengthy community day hours and such, I used to do the latter and prefer small and light for less pressure on the wrist and internal shoulder rotation. The Samsung S10e is one of the smaller form factors and is reasonably priced. If you want something bigger, I recommend OnePlus and Pixel.

Yes, the Play Store hides apps that aren't compatible. When the version is forced, you could test the apk (suspected to happen in the next few hours).

Sideloading won't work either, even if you alter the properties file and resign the APK manually, at least when I tested it with Android 4.4 when it was taken off (which would probably result in a ban)

Here is a quick video tutorial I just found.

Basically, walk around and try to capture wild Pokemon (with added humor of using the camera....I had an Ekans sitting on the carseat in the car earlier today). You can battle at local gyms and whatnot, but I have yet to get that far yet.

A couple things:

  • Don't level up all your Pokemon. Pick a few to focus on.
  • Catch multiples of Pokemon and Transfer them to the Professor for extra bonuses (and to clear out your lower quality duplicates)
  • Keep the ones with higher CP
  • When capturing, it is easiest when the circle is smallest (and green is easiest)
  • Pokestops refresh every 5-10 minutes. Use them for freebies.
  • The Shops have a daily freebie when you click the symbol in the top right corner.

Pokemon on mobile devices is terrible due of the un-gameboy-like screens and lack of buttons on phone devices. Because it doesn't even feel like I'm playing Pokemon, and because you have to touch the screen instead of using buttons on a phone, I would never play an emulator on my phone or computer again.

Pokemon Go is a mobile phone game only. It's not an emulated Pokemon hand held or game console game.
