Yup if Panda are given suitable quality files or traditional sculpts they'll produce quality boardgame minis in return

 

(I'm not 100% convinced those renders have got enough 'depth' to work well  at 28mm scale though especially as they aren't heroicly scaled)

They list the miniatures as 1.5". Is that 28mm scale?

So... unless they already have miniature prototypes, they've got to know November is not a realistic target.

If on the other hand they are far enough into production that it is... how bad exactly are the prototypes that they don't actually show them?

Either would seem to be stretching the "honest and clearly presented" Kickstarter rule.

 

Oh well, guess I'll have more money for that mine thingy coming later this month...

They said in the comments they are from base to head 1 1/2".

 

I would guess this would make them ~32-33mm (modern zombicide size), eventually bigger.

 

Does anyone know if a later pledge is possible with the release of the PM?

So, they revised their estimated delivery date to April 2017, apparently.

 

Was the absurd November 2016 estimate a bald-faced lie, or did they actually arrive at it by not bothering to do their homework pre-campaign and simply trusting some guy in China that said 'yes, yes, no problem, yes' on the phone?

In other words, should I distrust them for resorting to con artistry, or for being incompetent?

 

I'd so love to back this, but... too many projects with way less in the way of red flags have gone bad. Lets see if it reaches retail.

When in doubt, incompetent. You've reminded me that one of the basic mistakes new creators have when dealing with overseas manufacturers is believing what they have to say. This could also mean that the creator doesn't have someone on their team to periodically fly overseas to make sure their product has been scheduled and QA'ed correctly. I'm definitely waiting for retail.

I really hope my OP didn't pull too many people into the Cabin, because it looks like this project is dead in the water, along with the Terminator game these guys did.

As I backed out in time I can't read all the KS Updates anymore, but from the comments I gather the money is gone and almost nothing was delivered.

(And the name Certifiable pops up here and there in the comments so maybe another company picked this up?)

SGP has more drama, including sexual harassment allegations, and an attempt to gain outside investors.

I got an interesting email about this ks. It seems Jasco games acquired the remnants of this game from SGP and are planning a relaunch. If it is successful, they will fulfill all the pledges on the previous campaign. Of course I'm not sure how many people will bite at a new ks for this game, but it does mean there is some hope for backers of this project. It's not in the email, but if you check out the Jasco Games web page they have more info. You can check your backer kit id to see if you are on their list for reimbursement. There are instructions on how to find your id in the ks comments. :
