So... unless they already have miniature prototypes, they've got to know November is not a realistic target.

If on the other hand they are far enough into production that it is... how bad exactly are the prototypes that they don't actually show them?

Either would seem to be stretching the "honest and clearly presented" Kickstarter rule.

Oh well, guess I'll have more money for that mine thingy coming later this month...

They said in the comments they are from base to head 1 1/2".

I would guess this would make them ~32-33mm (modern zombicide size), eventually bigger.

Does anyone know if a later pledge is possible with the release of the PM?

So, they revised their estimated delivery date to April 2017, apparently.

Was the absurd November 2016 estimate a bald-faced lie, or did they actually arrive at it by not bothering to do their homework pre-campaign and simply trusting some guy in China that said 'yes, yes, no problem, yes' on the phone?

In other words, should I distrust them for resorting to con artistry, or for being incompetent?

I'd so love to back this, but... too many projects with way less in the way of red flags have gone bad. Lets see if it reaches retail.

When in doubt, incompetent. You've reminded me that one of the basic mistakes new creators have when dealing with overseas manufacturers is believing what they have to say. This could also mean that the creator doesn't have someone on their team to periodically fly overseas to make sure their product has been scheduled and QA'ed correctly. I'm definitely waiting for retail.

I really hope my OP didn't pull too many people into the Cabin, because it looks like this project is dead in the water, along with the Terminator game these guys did.

As I backed out in time I can't read all the KS Updates anymore, but from the comments I gather the money is gone and almost nothing was delivered.

(And the name Certifiable pops up here and there in the comments so maybe another company picked this up?)

I got an interesting email about this ks. It seems Jasco games acquired the remnants of this game from SGP and are planning a relaunch. If it is successful, they will fulfill all the pledges on the previous campaign. Of course I'm not sure how many people will bite at a new ks for this game, but it does mean there is some hope for backers of this project. It's not in the email, but if you check out the Jasco Games web page they have more info. You can check your backer kit id to see if you are on their list for reimbursement. There are instructions on how to find your id in the ks comments. :

Evil Dead 2™ the Board Game Kickstarter. A Heartthrob Campaign by Jasco Games.

ED2 bg launch date

Dear Evil Dead 2 Backers,

We're doing something a little different. You may have seen news on this upcoming campaign.

In collaboration with Lynnvander Studios, the Evil Dead 2™ licensing group, and our other partners, we have come together to bring Evil Dead 2™ the Board Game back from the dead. While we have no association with the original creator of the first Evil Dead 2 campaign, Jasco Games has created this Evil Dead 2™ the Board Game Kickstarter as a love letter to the Kickstarter community and the fans of Evil Dead 2™. We're calling this new type of campaign, a heartthrob campaign. What that means is if this campaign successfully funds, all of the previous backers from the original campaign, that you so passionately backed, will be able to get a free copy of our new Evil Dead 2™ the Board Game. You will be able to search a link on our site which will be up in the next couple of days to make sure we have their information (by Pledge Manager order number, no personal information will be view-able to the public).

Evil Dead 2™ The Board Game is a wild romp through the cult classic film. Players will fend off Deadites, search the cabin for items and Necronomicon pages, and attempt to close the portal before evil is unleashed upon the world. But Beware! You can’t trust everyone, and at a moment’s notice you might find that your allies are working for evil!

The Kickstarter is set to Launch August 21st. Evil Dead 2™ shall rise again, groovy.

Kind regards,
Jasco Games

Had an hour to decide what I needed for the group. Decided to paint up a drowned zombie horde! :D

A certain platypus managed to snag a Maiden Bust on my behalf.
I love the sculpt. The casting is... meh. Sorry Reaper, metal is working better for you than resin. The resin had funky tiny chunks on parts, edge of the hand and rose are odd, and lips are a little rough on the edges. Mostly rough edges. I cleaned what I could, and am using gloss varnish on other odd bits to smooth them, but I can't get it all.
But in the slightly funky surface, I saw an opportunity. What if she wasn't quite a maiden? What if she was kinda... dead? Not all the way dead. Just becoming dead or undead, as if from a curse. And the rose is the only thing holding the curse at bay.
So maybe Cyr is crazy. Maybe Cyr is going to paint something awesome.
So far she has gray primer, dabs of gloss varnish, eyes, maiden flesh on one side, dusky flesh on the other, and a base coated rose.
Her live area will be blonde. Her dead side will have "white" hair, and a blackish rose.
The dusky skin and the vallejo nocturna white flesh are amazingly similar in tone, but very different in feel. Right now the difference is subtle, but as I shade it, the live side will get more rosy and warm, while the dead side will become more gaunt and sullen, like a starving vampire.
      At least... that's the plan.
Think I can pull it off?

17 wacky creatures for $100. $200 for those, non add-on stretch goals (7 shown so far), a t-shirt, and a pdf of 800 monsters.
Its certainly structured with a lot more initial firepower then the Torn one, so with any luck this could turn out well. And hey, some of the creatures in Tome of Horrors (including a few of the ones they are starting with) are bizarre enough that you'll likely never get them elsewhere. :)
