ME was the worst. If you put in 8.1 (the 'good' 8), you should put in W98SE (the 'good' 98).

(edit....I added it :p)

Normally, options should not be added, but since this is the first survivor game, I'll let that option be added. No more added options, though.

And for the record, I think Windows Vista is the worst. The first computer we had running it crashed.

Anyway...

Anyone get the feeling Windows Vista won't last long?

Overall I've had a lot of problems with user's Vista machines, but nowhere near as many as with ME. It was a huge step back from 98SE, just a slapped-together release because XP wasn't ready (the fusion of home and business kernels). Vista at least was a planned release, even if it took an iteration to perfect (in XP).

That's the basic MS model; release a new OS and perfect it in the next release (as well as having improved driver support). Buy every other OS, I've used 3.1/95/98SE/XP/7/10 on my home PCs.

And Vista/ME still weren't as bad as pre-OSX Mac OS, or v1 of OSX.

I hate how Win10 is so privacy intrusive and resource hogging. Keeps booting my laptop off wifi too.

The list is incorrect...

You're listing win 3.0 and 3.1, but I suspect that you meant one of those to be 'Windows for Workgroups' which in some areas came as both 3.1 and 3.11, and in other areas only as 3.11.

There was even a Win3.1 that was NOT WfW...

(not very common)

And those that think Me was bad, should really have tried 3.1 with 32bit extensions...

Not voting because OS/2 4.0 Merlin isn't included...

Nor, 1.3(very common on servers back in MS Lan Manager days, rock solid, if a boring interface), 2.0 which no one much cared about, 3.0 Warp(stable enough that I could play X-wing or OMF2097 at the same time as my backup SW was busy copying everything to tape), which was the first really 'multimedia' OS for PCs, 3.0 Warp Connect....

Or eCS 2.0, which I think is the current incarnation...

I am fortunate (and young) enough never to have experienced ME (not actually that young, but my family skipped that one), so down with Vista it is!
