On DakkaDakka.com, we sometimes do Survivor Games. Here are the rules: Each item starts with 10 points. Copy the list into your reply and make a "vote" by either adding or subtracting one point from a single selection. When a selection reaches "0" it is out of the game. You may not vote again until four other posters have voted after you, or two hours have passed without *any* valid votes from anyone (not any posts, any votes).

If this doesn't belong here, please let me know.

ME was the worst. If you put in 8.1 (the 'good' 8), you should put in W98SE (the 'good' 98).

(edit....I added it :p)

Normally, options should not be added, but since this is the first survivor game, I'll let that option be added. No more added options, though.

And for the record, I think Windows Vista is the worst. The first computer we had running it crashed.

Overall I've had a lot of problems with user's Vista machines, but nowhere near as many as with ME. It was a huge step back from 98SE, just a slapped-together release because XP wasn't ready (the fusion of home and business kernels). Vista at least was a planned release, even if it took an iteration to perfect (in XP).

That's the basic MS model; release a new OS and perfect it in the next release (as well as having improved driver support). Buy every other OS, I've used 3.1/95/98SE/XP/7/10 on my home PCs.

And Vista/ME still weren't as bad as pre-OSX Mac OS, or v1 of OSX.

The list is incorrect...

You're listing win 3.0 and 3.1, but I suspect that you meant one of those to be 'Windows for Workgroups' which in some areas came as both 3.1 and 3.11, and in other areas only as 3.11.

There was even a Win3.1 that was NOT WfW...

(not very common)

And those that think Me was bad, should really have tried 3.1 with 32bit extensions...

Not voting because OS/2 4.0 Merlin isn't included...

Nor, 1.3(very common on servers back in MS Lan Manager days, rock solid, if a boring interface), 2.0 which no one much cared about, 3.0 Warp(stable enough that I could play X-wing or OMF2097 at the same time as my backup SW was busy copying everything to tape), which was the first really 'multimedia' OS for PCs, 3.0 Warp Connect....

Or eCS 2.0, which I think is the current incarnation...

Ok. I have filled up my hard drive with STL’s and need a better Home system. What is everyone using. @Gadgetman! iirc correctly recommended a NAS system.

I am looking at a Synology 4 bay NAS DS420j with  three 4 TB Seagate IronWolf Internal Hard Drives. I figure that would give me room for future expansion.

Does this make any sense? I am not to fluent in these types of systems and was also wondering how hard it is to set up?

In addition to hobby related stuf I would be using it for computer back up, music, and home video storage.

If this has been addressed somewhere else, let me know.

      Thanks, Mike.

B:GCC - Villain Box Leftovers "Almost Done".  We are finished with the mission book!*  Two alt sculpts that were not specifically involved in any missions so far, and all the 3D objectives are all that remain in the villain box.  The hero box leftovers will be next.

*There was one more mission that featured the Batmobile, but I'm not painting that and there was no one else I hadn't painted already.

      Island of misfit Batman minis.

Riddler, with a fantastic pose, I think.  At least, one that fits his style.  Riddler Year Zero was in a core book mission but not this guy.  I wonder why.  (Unless I missed him, which could have happened)

Killer Croc, with a more animalistic look than his other sculpt.  Getting his face in focus was a bit of a pain.

Consoles.  I wanted to make them that ugly, 1970s green.  Not my best paint job but, meh.  They are good enough for objectives.

My wife told me that it is her favorite of the toppers I've made.  I suppose she's not alone in that, since another couple requested one.
Here they are.  I'll probably need to make one to keep sometime, maybe for our anniversary (we decided that Cortana was a good enough name for our daughter, after all).

So my painting area needed to migrate, as the room it was in will soon be converted to a Jacuzzi bath / Shower and Laundry room...
So I cleaned up a bunch of stuff in my bed room, and spent the day moving everything out, and then in...
Still need to do some tweaks, and need to find a way to make up for some of the cabinet / shelf space I am losing...
I thought that having the Air brush station ready to go, plus the painting space was more important than storage...

But it is almost 10pm, and I need to paint a bit!
