02404: Lizardman Tyrant By Glitterwolf

Recommended Posts

Very nicely done!

Thank you!

Very nice! I'm not a big fan of the sculpt but you did a really good job on it. I really like the skin. I also thought that the background was kind of distracting.

Thx!  I will take this into account.

Next time I will take pics with neutral background, and a few "fun" pics with a scenic background.

Having watched the Lizard Lad evolve in the W.I.P. section makes the finished piece even better...if that is possible. Your brushwork & especially your choice of colors are OUTSTANDING. He looks WONDERFUL on the LOVELY base you chose & lavished attentions on. VERY WELL DONE!

I like this a lot. Loved the Tyrant's colour scheme but I found the colour of the cloak (and particularly the white edge) a bit disconcerting.

On the other hand, your painting of the stone axe head is fantastic!

The White Edge is actually more pink in real life, it is supposed to be the inside of the cloak, so a fleshy pink colour..but it is a bit white in the pics indeed.

Ah, right. I wondered about that. So many skills involved in painting minis!

I'm 52yrs old, have been painting since my youth and still I learn new things, to be honest, I've been on this forum since 2013 ( lurked before that) and I have learned way more here in a few years then I did in the decades before.

Really, these people are very helpful and willing to share techniques and sources.

That cloak is supposed to be a skin from an enemy. hence the fleshy inside.

I try to paint each reptile as an individual, in the end they will form an army ( only for fun, I don't play, display only) I want them to be a colourful horde.

Some people might call it Minivember, though technically I had 23 days of vacation and just wanted to paint a mini every day. Some were finishing older minis, some entirely new, some were the size of a nailclipping. I present, my Minivember.

'Tis the season! I posted this a while ago before is got paint on him. Santac'Laus has featured in the Christmas one-shot games I've run for the last couple of years (and this year is no exception). He's gone from villain to lovable (but weird) friend, who rides a manta-ray-shaped sleigh, pulled by a team of beholders.

If you're one of my players, please don't read the spoiler!

The hat, sack and present were all made with green stuff. The snow was made with snow powder mixed with water effects.

What's better to start my KS Bones topic than Mr. Bones himself ?

I finally finished this project! This was a mini I got a forgotten number of years ago with an order during October. Being as this is a more modern vibe the first thing that came to my mind first is: Make her a neon Witch! This was such a joy to paint. It was my first real attempt at osl and sheer fabric. I used quite a few reaper paints but I will give you the main ones that pulled of the effects that I wanted. If you have other question feel free to ask and I will share with you what I used/did.
      Dominant paints used:
      Punk rock pink 09286
      Marid blue 89526
      Clear magenta 09098
      Regal purple 09238
      Clear purple 09099
      Nightmare black 09280
      Fair skin 09047
      Dark elf skin 09164
      Pure black 09037
      Pure white 09039
Let me know what you think!

Presenting a pair of Deep Gnome heroes (I'm calling them Harold and Alice) from Reaper.

I got these to see what the Bones Black material was like on smaller minis (I was quite impressed), and while some parts could've gone better (One day I'll learn how to highlight dark blue) they were a lot of fun to paint up.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
