You guys have a good time.  I had six courses down, but the computer gods would not let me check out.  Finally, I logged in and out and lost them all.  Since I mainly come for the courses, it will be a pass this year.

Have to hand it to Bryan.  He went to extraordinary lengths to try to help me.

Sad to see you not join in the fun. There's a lot more to do than just take the classes and there are still plenty of classes available even if they aren't your first choices. I think I could go and not take a single class and still have a blast with the socializing with the other attendees, artists, and sculptors, entering the painting competition, doing the auction, buying from the vendors, taking the reaper tour, hitting the melt bin, and going to the banquets.

True, that is the primary reason I am only taking 3 classes this year.

Yeah, I took 6 classes last year and felt (personally) it was too many. This year it's 4 classes (1/day). Hopefully I can spend more time with everyone socializing and actually getting in on some games. I ran a few games late in the evenings last year, but didn't get to play in any during the days and I didn't get to speak to all the artists/sculptors!

With me, it's a sink or swim kinda thing. If I hear "oh man, is that [forumite]? I really wanna say hi but I don't want to disturb them" I will take them by the hand and introduce them. Mind you, I make sure they aren't in the middle of gluing something or working on a detail. But, for the most part, everyone is usually very willing to meet everyone because we are a tight knit group.

I will usually also remind people that you all have been basically talking to each other for quite some time already. It usually makes it much easier since you actually know them. Pretty much everyone is the same as they are on the boards so there isn't much surprise either.

Yeah, that's me.... We went to ArtistCon as a spur of the moment trip last fall. I was so nervous and still in shock that there were all these artists all congregating together, taking classes from other artists!! But I didn't want to bug anyone because they were all working and being awesome! Michael Proctor was like, "here, let me help," and then promptly announced my name to all the artists in the room.   :zombie: So I've already melted to the floor and stumbled my way through awkward introductions once, I know I can awkwardly do it again haha! I just like having a corner to retreat.

I'm writing my forum name on the back of my cloak, you guys are welcome to poke me in the shoulder and say hi. ^_^

Just got back from France yesterday.  I totally lucked out on my course selections given that sods law dictated that the date the class tickets went on sale was right smack bang in the middle of my French holiday, where I was stuck in a caravan park, with no roaming internet and totally reliant on the camp wifi - which was only available in the main bar, where every kiddie and their tablet sucked up all the limited bandwidth.  In short, given that I'm coming over to Reapercon from the UK almost exclusively to do the courses, it had the potential to be a total disaster.

Anyway, the Gods smiled on me that evening.  Got bandwidth and booked nearly all the courses I wanted.  Phew.  I can now look forward to meeting the folks here off these forums :)

Wish there was an option to view it the other way though. Luckily I already got my classes but going back to look over which of the ones I took that are full and it was just a bit too different. :)

Amazed there are so many spots open for Michelle Blastenbrei's Blood, Puss, Guts and Gore class. I guess everyone but me already knows how to do that.

For me it's the fact that I have a lot to learn still and practice before taking that class.

The function that draws the table from the database is currently set up to draw it only one way, and that way had to be revised for various internal reasons. I could probably take some time and write in some sort of code that would enable you to switch views, but honestly, I'm focused on behind the scenes efficiency and this method was more efficient from a back-end perspective.

Certainly makes it much more mobile friendly. Which will be good for those of us using it as our schedule at the con.

It got a bit hairy registering for classes in the middle of the Gen Con exhibit hall but I managed to pull it off! So far I am taking...

Thursday 4-5 Intro to Digital Sculpting with Jake Schneider

Friday 10-noon Zbrush with Bobby Jackson and Gene Van Horne

Friday 4-5 Clothing the Figure with Julie Guthrie

This will be my first Reapercon and I am really looking forwards to it!
