ub3r_n3rd
On topic: I'm going to probably take 3-4 classes total this year, so it'll be hard to narrow it down with so many awesome classes being offered! I took 6 last year, but didn't get time to hit any of the games (at least during the day), so I'm probably going to try for 4 as well. The other thing besides not being able to hang out with everyone and talk to the artists and play games is that classes do cost money and I've got to fund my going by painting commissions right now. So less classes = more time and easier to save up.
GHarris
I am really hoping to make my first Reapercon this Year! But I would have to echo the "ouch!" reaction to tickets for classes going on sale in the middle of day 1 of Gen Con. Now I need to form a cunning plan to find a spot in the convention center with good phone reception so I can hopefully get in on some of that sculpting goodness! Years ago I used to go to the sculptor meetings at Gen Con that were sponsored by Reaper- they were awesome! I am hoping to recapture some of that old magic at Reapercon this year. I am really looking forwards to hearing what Bobby Jackson and Gene Van Horne have to say about using zbrush!
ub3r_n3rd
Sorry, not sorry for those of you at the awesome GenCon! Reaper can't make everyone happy all the time. They need to sell their classes out and give plenty of notice. Get yourselves a proxy (close friend or family member you trust) to log in that day under your account and get your RCon class tickets. Don't lament the fact you can't do it while you're attending another awesome Con most of us never get to attend and figure out a solution.
GHarris
Truth be told, I think I am more excited about the possibility of going to Reapercon than Gen Con!
Harrek
Truth be told, I think I am more excited about the possibility of going to Reapercon than Gen Con! Having done both. I'm in 100% agreement with you.
Artists Wren Posted July 22, 2016 Artists Share Posted July 22, 2016 Sorry, not sorry for those of you at the awesome GenCon! Reaper can't make everyone happy all the time. Don't lament the fact you can't do it while you're attending another awesome Con most of us never get to attend and figure out a solution. To be fair, several of the people lamenting are working at Gen Con, which is a slightly different thing. They're not free to skip out on something to run off and sign up. For those of us who can only hold so much in our heads at one time, it's also stressful to have to plan one con in the middle of another. ;-) (I'm not able to attend Gen Con this year even to work, but I've suffered through this annoyance on more than one occasion!)

Crowley
This year it was either going to be GenCon (i've never been) or ReaperCon (also never been). I think I made the right choice!
MissMelons
Lets see I get paid the Friday before. Mr M has decided to take classes this time and I've limited myself to six. (Two each day potentially with Sunday to rest( I think Mr M has about the same for classes he wants to do. The hard part is choosing the wappel classes. Id feel strange doing them ALL. knarthex
Questions.... Is the melt table at the con, or the factory? Is there a schedule for the factory tours? I want to take classes, but I don't want to miss those 2 things....... (Planning on 6 or 7 depending....)
ub3r_n3rd
Questions.... Is the melt table at the con, or the factory? Is there a schedule for the factory tours? I want to take classes, but I don't want to miss those 2 things....... (Planning on 6 or 7 depending....) At the Con Yes, they put out a schedule closer to the Con - last year I believe it was like every 2 hours they had a shuttle going to/from, so you shouldn't really have a problem even with 6 or 7 classes. I still tell people (especially first timers) to pace themselves with classes. I took 6 last time, felt like I didn't get to do half of what I wanted to do. This year is 3-4 classes so I have more time with friends, with artists/sculptors, to shop, to visit the factory (which I didn't get to do), and to play in games. Really, you'd think that 4 days would be enough to do all of this and take a bunch of classes, but TIME FLIES by there and it's a whirlwind of awesome. skippen
I was at 2 classes a day (1 morning, 1 late afternoon), and that was good. This year I am going to sit and paint more with the folks in the giant room.
