Just to making sure I understand how the class tickets work: it's possible for me to purchase tickets for 9 classes if on my ReaperCon account I've purchased two VIP Passes, correct?

How does it work if I purchase a 10th class ticket for my wife (the other VIP Pass recipient): does it look like I'm registered for all ten classes, or does the identity of the class participant not really matter?

Thanks in advance!

So you have 2 passes. Whether they're 4-day or VIP the code is the same - each ticket lets you get 8 classes. So you can have 16 classes on your account.

Whether you attend or she attends is irrelevant, the computer sees less than or equal to 16 classes and allows it. As you say, the identity of the student doesn't matter.

Maybe sometime in the future we might register each badge and each class to a specific person, but for now we really just assigning all badges, all classes, all games, and all meal tickets to the account, and that account can cover as many people as you want. (I don't think we'll ever require each class assigned to that level of granularity, to be honest).

Got my preference list of classes to take. And backup preferences, along with their backups.

It's turtles for a long way down.

Same here.

I was going to skip work tomorrow to get classes, but I can't, so I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

i'm not going to be able to take any of the classes we wanted

we wanted to do a Bones conversion class, but due to the move we won't be in on Thursday, when all the conversion classes are taking place...no conversion classes on Friday or saturday, so i guess i don't have to worry about buying tickets tomorrow

Think I got my class choices down.  If you have taken any of the ones where I mention it is a first, second, or third choice then let me know what you thought and I may move them around.  The MAYBE options are because I am not a morning person and not sure I want to be up in time to drive the 40 min for the early classes. I don't plan on telling my daughter about the class on Saturday until the night before or after we wake up that day.

Any idea on the levels?  I know that I should stay out of anything that mentions advanced but not sure if intermediate is ok for some of them.  I am still a noob with many of the skills and want to learn more about some of them.

A bunch of the classes I want to take are all in the same time slots.  Grr!

There is always next year to take the others you missed!

^^^ THIS ^^^

Unless they aren't offered. :(  There was a class from Aaron I wanted to take from last year, but alas no luck.

I wonder if they rotate classes or do new classes based off of popularity or as they (as instructors) get better and want to teach new things...

Poor Anne has to consider a bunch of factors, and her job has only become more complex with the explosion in the number of instructors and classes. One factor is feedback from attendees, including requests, but also what sells out fast and what doesn't get as much interest. Instructor preference is another big factor. Some people have a set of topics they feel qualified and well-practiced to teach, or subjects they're particularly known for and will be in demand to teach. (Like Michael Proctor usually teaches metallics and basing because lots of people want to learn those subjects from him.) Other people prefer to mix it up and try new teaching new things from time to time. This year I'm teaching one class that's a brand new topic for me, one I've only taught once before at a different con, and two I've been honing for years. While it's a big time investment for me to put together a new class topic, I generally find that I also improve my own understanding of the topic in doing it.

Where there is overlap in teaching topics, I think Anne tries to either offer multiples of that topic in a year (when it's popular), or alternate instructors in various years when it's more of a specialty topic, so attendees have the opportunity to take a class on that topic with multiple instructors and get different POVs. Everyone teaches differently, and learns differently, so that can be helpful. I did transparent cloth last year, this year Angela Imrie is teaching that one, for example.

Bryan has said that this year no classes will be held back for purchase on the day.

Get 'em while they're hot.

My current plan is to take either three or four classes (none on Sunday), and I know what I want to click first. But what happens after that will depend on what I actually manage to score in the scrum.
