Kobold Hero

It occurred to me that I have many older completed miniatures in my collection that the good forumites of this board may not be familiar with, but bear special relevance to my time as an artist or to Reaper miniatures.

 

This kobold Hero sculpt was clearly inspired by the Seins kobolds at Reaper, and he serves as a hero for my large kobold warband. It was the first humanoid sculpt I ever completed, circa 2009. It was painted in 2011. Necromancy .

May I ask what you sculpted him with, and what tools were used?

He is sculpted in greenstuff (epoxy putty) with a polystyrene spear haft and the tip of the spear is from another kobold.
It's an old mini, but important to me. As far as tools go I use all types of things, from metal and rubber pro tools, to home made tools made from various materials  and other improvised objects like mechanical pencils and texture stamps (rocks FTW).

And, yes, it does tend to attract three and five year olds (AKA my children) as would be expected for something that is irreplaceable. Never fails.

I've managed to finish some stuff this weekend, so newly completed minis are on deck!

I realized this guy is a little incomplete, He actually has a shield bearer, which is a r&f kobold with a minor conversion.

Serious skills on sculpts dude. I've wanted to delve into it but have no clue where to start.

I just started with conversions. Those smaller scale projects will really teach you how to handle the putty. It also allows you to isolate skills (such as generating a particular texture) and practice bit by bit.
