Popular Post Nightwing
After multiple restarts on these guys, I had something I was mostly happy with. And then I got clever and decided to front light them as if they were just coming into range of the party's torches. I should have left well enough alone. On the second dusting of pale yellow with the airbrush, the airbrush started spitting. So instead of looking like they're illuminated, they look like they're...splattered with paint. I'm calling them done, cuz I'm NOT going to do them a 4th time.
dunker79
Great work! I like the colour transitions. Is it airbrushed?
Nightwing
Base coats were airbrushed. Green, blue-green, and blue. Then brushed highlighting, then the disastrous front lighting airbrushed.
vegascat
They look really good, I too love the color transitions. I think you're being too hard on yourself.
Mad Jack
I think if you darkened up the back side of them a bit (especially the shadowed parts) and then hit just the really recessed parts of the front with a heavy wash to darken them up it'd look more like they were just stepping into the light... (Since you accidentally went too heavy on the yellow highlighting from the torchlight, and fixing it would be an elf and a half, play up the lighting effect and push the shadows darker to match it.)

malefactus
We all tend to be our own harshest critic. I think you did an OUTSTANDING job with the brush AND you have a FINE eye for colors. The Living Impaired Fellows are VERY WELL DONE indeed!

Arachne
See, I wouldn't have thought splattered. Before I read your commentary, my first thoughts were "ooh, cool color choices, very unique, eldritch. Nice transitioning. I like the glow, and the unusual lighting effect" So, go with it. To the rest of us, they look great :)
dunker79
Base coats were airbrushed. Green, blue-green, and blue. Then brushed highlighting, then the disastrous front lighting airbrushed. No mistakes, no disasters, just happy accidents.
