Oh, I really like the black and reddish-orange coloring on him! And the rock-like growths on his back are so convincingly painted that they look like you glued on real gravel!

(Edit: KruleBear and I were thinking the same thing at the same time!)

Looks like you glued real rocks to his back. Good job on a big mini.

Thanks! I spent a great deal of time on the back so I'm glad it came out looking that realistic.

Love your work here!

I understand what you're saying about the base. I trimmed it with a knife and boiled/cooled it until it was dead flat. Once you attach the beast to the base it just bends over again. It absolutely will not stay flat on it's own. The material, like so many Bones minis, is just way too soft. I'm going to glue the base to a CD. Another Reaper forumite did that and it looks like a great solution. Mashaaf's base fits perfectly on a CD with no overhang and only a small portion of the CD showing.

Thanks for this. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do about the base since it's bent pretty severely. I have a ton of blank CD's so I'll have to try that.

Anytime. :)

The thread with the truly helpful forumite (Chris Palmer) has a thread here and he even has a blog post here where he talks about attaching the base to a CD. My Mashaaf is just sitting unpainted on a CD. Poor thing. She's too embarrassed to attack anybody without a proper coat of paint. ( ¬‿¬)
