the blue hair and purple cloth really go well together. seems you got lucky with this mini some of them I have seen have horrible mold lines and slippage. great job.

Thanks ^^

And yeah, I had heard about that, but only after I'd ordered her

She has a bit of a mold line/slip on her leg, but its not major, and I carefully hid it in the angle of the photo xD

Very nice!!!

Anime Sophie!!!

Thanks ^^

And yeah xD

Wasnt my intention, but its how she came out and I'm really pleased with it xD

Very nice. Her wings really did come out great, very leathery. I also like that tan base. It brings out all of the figures colors. A busier base might have detracted from it.

Thanks ^_^

I think basing minis is the thing I'm most confident with to be honest. I'd already settled on how I wanted to do it about halfway through, whereas the rest I was making up as I went

Nice work! Best part for me is the wings!

Thanks ^^

For guess work, they came out well xD

Very nice. Really liking the wings!

Thanks ^_^

Really pleased with them too ^^

WELCOME BACK!

Your latest creation is LOVELY; I think it's her BEAUTIFULLY expressive face that does it for moi. OUTSTANDING WORK!

Thanks ^^

Nice to be back, even if its taking me a while to get back in to the swing of posting ^^;

And thankyou ^_^

This is Inn Keeper Sophie from the Bones 4 Core, Sophie and Friends subset and was sculpted by Gene Van Horne. It was #160 in the set but is now available as SKU: 77750.

Pretty happy with this. It's the first metal anything that I've successfully painted so also pretty proud about that.

Extremely happy with her face. Might go back and touch-up a few spots. C&C welcome.

This miniature had some DRAMA associated with it.

I painted her for quite a while, and then she went into a kind of miniature limbo in which I just couldn't stand any color on the sculpt.  Finally I ended up dunking her in the Simple Green and leaving her there for a week.  The paint came off, but strangely the bones sculpt was dyed a strange orange color and its texture changed.  It got really, really soft... almost floppy.

...but eventually I got the fig to take a brown basecoat, and the rest of the painting process went off without much of a hitch, except the OSL.  The figure was so weirdly soft that drybrushing made it wobble.  So her OSL is a lot lighter than I would have hoped.

      Anyway, here she is :-)

This one was for a facebook competition about color. The rules were, basically, don't worry about anything else but color. Do something different with color. I started with the idea of a dress palette of blue, teal, purple, and magenta. Once I had those colors in place, it was a matter of incorporating them in different areas of the model. I went with cotton candy roses and a galaxy print on the wings. The galaxy was a matter of stippling the dress colors (plus a bit of white) back and forth until the effect was convincing. Then I masked the body of the model and flicked a stiff brush at the wings to make star patterns. I then went back to the dress colors and stippling to blend them in a bit. This was a blast to paint, because I've never really done anything like this before.

Hi guys.  Here is my painted Bones Succubus.  Parts of her are a hot mess but I am so happy with her!!  I pushed through sone issues I was having and there are so many spots I learned on her.  For starters she has the first makeup I ever put on a mini.  She has eyeshadow, blush, lipstick complete with little white light dot on her lower lip for fun and a beauty mark!  I started with slightly less pronounced makeup but then she's a succubus, she would have exaggerated makeup I think.  The unfortunate thing about her is her right cheek has quite an indent and then a mold line a little past that.  I disguised the mold line by giving her a "lady sideburn" to match the one sculpted on the other side but there's nothing I can do about the indent.  Then her wings, for the first time I was able to get more of a variation in the colouring which I tried with my bat demon and ended up covering because I didn't like it.  Her dress could have used a bit more but I was done and I'm still working on the layering/highlighting in general.  One thing that still bothers me is the rough look of my paint jobs when I'm done.  I paint with a wet palette so thinning isn't an issue I don't think and don't put coats on top of drying paints so that's not causing it.  Hope everyone likes her as much as I do.  I even have a second copy of her to do later in my painting journey.
