Front Line Dwarf Wizard - an ub3r Showoff

Recommended Posts

That looks real nice.

The only critique I would have is the summoning of the elemental is not that clear.  I would not have guessed that is what he is up to without your comment.   Possibly adding some eyes or possibly shoulders & arms to the rock pile might have sold it a bit more.

But since your friend knows the character does this as a PC it will probably be apparent to him.

Thanks!

Yeah he wanted "rubble" and I figured a spell effect that he was pointing at something near it would be a good stand in for a tabletop quality base as I didn't want to go too crazy with the details.

I always love me a good dwarf!  Your friend will be super happy!!!   ::):

Dwarves are like any other miniatures.

..................At least that's what I keep telling myself. And yet, whenever I start filling up my cart, the majority of it somehow becomes diminutive axe-swingers. There's something appealing about the hardy warriors. Must have more, even though they'd start outnumbering any other kind.

Very nice work!!!

Love the beard!

@ Pezler, Dwarves are not like most other races, they're in fact more tasty because of the nice belly fat.. the main problem is getting them out of that armor.

Once you got them out of the armor, one can grill them like any other creature, another Plus for Dwarves, they're already marinated in beer. Yummie.

The Vertically Challenged One & friend turned out WONDERFULLY. The additional photo shows of your brushwork & color selection to a greater advantage than the other pics...especially the metalwork. VERY WELL DONE!

Never painted fully white mini before.

More vintage minis from my childhood.  Been soaking a dozen or so in isopropyl  for about a week to get the 40 yr old enamel paint off them.  With much scrubbing some of them came out pretty clean!  Will post as they come along, here's one of my all-time favorites. I remember when I bought him in a little attic hobby shop in Ithaca, NY. Unfortunately I don't remember the packaging.  Such a stoic little dude...any ideas?

Durgam Deepmug, one of several figures I picked at random to paint for table use during the early weeks of covid-19 lockdown.  I tried a little magical/ ice effect on his sword.

For your consideration I present my take on the Wizard’s Workshop. This piece was created in response to a challenge issued by a Twitch streamer that I follow. The challenge was themed Fatherly for Fathers Day 2020. I spent several hours searching for the right model until I came across this piece. Inspired by Alexi Z’s example on the Reaper website I decided to try OSL for the first time. (Using an airbrush is almost cheating lol) I wanted to find a unique base for this project and settled on the Shattered Ritual 100mm base by Secret Weapon Miniatures. In addition to the Wizard’s Workshop I also added 77318: Bookshelf, 77248: Crates (Large and Small) (2) and 77249: Large Barrel Small Barrel to the scene

The Glowing effect was created by adding LIT Green Glow Pigment by Culture Hustle and mixing it with the acrylic paint and applying it with the airbrush. C&C welcome
