Nativity Set Xherman1964

Recommended Posts

I like the exclusion of the wisemen, since there aren't 3 yet. I still have my fingers crossed for this Christmas though.

I was told the wise men visited later.

My first impulse was to include them, I bought them and a 3rd mini to convert. But then my girl said, no they weren't actually present at the birth, they visited later.

That and it would become too crowded.

I wanted more animals, so I used the cow from Andy's animal familiar set as an Oxen ( I removed as much from the udder as possible to make it look like an Oxen)

Awesome and I love it under the bell jar.

I started mine last night, didn't get far on it. Did you find that your figures had a lot of pitting and mold lines? Mine are very rough, baby Jesus was bisected by a horrible mold line and Mary's face is messed up a bit. They have not been awesome to prep.

In fact I find the Baby Jesus a terrible sculpt. The face is almost non existent.

Mary has had some issues as well, but I could salvage that.

But as a scene it works well.

Agreed, I'm not sure if I completely sanded off Jesus's nose trying to get the mold line but I feel like it won't matter that much. One side of Mary's face will just have to be rough, I can't fix it. The area is to tight, I'll take her nose off of up I try to get at it. I tried building up the area next to the problem so hopefully it'll blend okay. I did a pretty heavy coat of sealer on the cloth of all figures to try filing in some of the pitting.

I think your right though, as a scene it should be fine.
