Battle Valor Fantasy 15mm Table Top Wargame

Recommended Posts

About this project

Battle Valor Fantasy is the first of hopefully many games produced by Battle Valor Games.

The game is set in the Fantasy World of Legian, and uses 15mm Metal and Resin Miniatures to fight Table Top Mass Battles and Campaigns.

The Ruleset has now been under development for a year and as been play tested by a large group of people for at least 7 months. We are now at the end of the play testing phase, and are confident that we have the rule set nailed down.

If you would like to try the rules out or even just read them, the current basic play test rule set is available as  PDF download either from the front of our webpage www.battlevalorgames.com, or from our Facebook Group "Battle Valor Games". You should join the Facebook group if possible. Here we post all the latest news, and many members post pictures of painted figures and Battle Reports.

The game is set in a Fantasy World, but the rules lend a very Historical feel to the game. There is Magic, but it is designed to support your army, and is not over bearing or silly. You issue order counters to each of your units at the start of each game turn, and then take turns activating them according to the game sequence.

Armies are constructed using a point system, which allows for "extreme" flexibility in the creation of an army. You pay points for armor, weapons, mounts, and troop experience level. There are 4 experience levels. Levy, Regular, Veteran and Elite. Troops experience level and their proximity to your army General greatly influence their ability to achieve what you ask them to do.

Armies may be built from 1 or multiple races, allowing you to field Alliances. Miniatures, and many of their rules, allow you to "swap" pieces, to make even more variants. For instance, you may replace the crew of a Frigian War Mammoth with Vampirian Miniatures, and field the Mammoth in your Vampirian Army.

We want you to field the Army you can imagine, not the army we tell you to.

The game features some 32 different Fantasy Armies, and we hope to be able to produce all of them over time. We have our own naming conventions to fit into the World of Legian, but you will find we feature all the traditional Fantasy Armies plus about a dozen different Human Armies.

The Miniature Range was launched in February of this year, and we have already released figures for 7 Armies, and have Miniatures for another 4 already under way. All of these can be found on our website and are available for purchase. You, like so many others already have, will find them to be incredibly detailed. The bulk of them have been sculpted by Chip Mann, with additional Miniatures by Bob Naismith. They have both done an amazing job with the figures. We have established a strong following and community in many different countries already, and our customers are continually amazed when they receive their boxes of Miniatures. We will continue to release figures for the Armies we have already made, or that are in development already, during the whole Kickstarter process.

We have already released 120 different packs of Miniatures and Accessories for the Game.

The range boasts a huge variety of Miniatures in terms of poses. For instance there are 30 different Dwarian Swordsmen. Most packs have 4-10 variants of figures, plus additional command poses.

Yeah these are definitely nice looking for that size.

I've always liked 15mm for wargames that use rank-and-file blocks, as it gives a great sense of an endless sea of massed troop formations when the miniatures are tightly packed together (I would definitely pack them tighter than the pictures shown here).

Echoes of Camelot: Arthurian Legends is a project that will expand our 75mm resin miniature range with new and exciting models based on the Matter of Britan, particularly around the figure of King Arthur and his Knights. We have many cool surprises prepared should you help us bring this dream to life.
These miniatures have been sculpted and painted here at the Big Child Creatives studio with the collaboration of some of the most talented miniature artists out there. And what is more, they will be manufactured by our own talented team of resin casting experts. This allows us to monitor the process closely to ensure the best quality in the market and a timely delivery.
We have learned a lot from our previous campaigns, and we want to put all this experience to good use, repeating everything we did right, improving upon it, and correcting our past mistakes. We invite you to join us in this journey of discovery throughout the Matter of Britain and its amazing cast of unique characters.
This campaign is a journey of discovery, full of surprises such as custom bits to make your miniatures even more striking than they already are. Some of these kits will be Kickstarter exclusive, so those of you who choose to support us will be able to proudly show it through unique miniatures, even more full of life and character than our regular releases.

Welcome to the Splintered Light Miniatures 15mm Return to the Black Root Forest Kickstarter Campaign.  For many years, renowned sculptor Ben Siens has added great sculpts to our line of fantasy figures.  A year ago, we ran a successful campaign adding beastmen and treemen into our range of miniatures.  Over the past year, Siens has sculpted more wonderful figures for us and we decided to offer them to you via a second Kickstarter.
Our primary goal for this campaign is getting the funds needed for the production molds and initial castings.  Our hope is that as we get the funding for production molds, we can also keep Ben sculpting new figures for future lines.  We need you help to get this done so please pledge today!
Our plan is to have 11 new codes but we will also be offering these along with the entire range of Ben Siens sculpted figures.
There's only 4 days left in the campaign, so if you want some well-made 15mm goodness...
