Question for October 3rd, 2016

It's the first Monday of October. If you celebrate Halloween, are your decorations up yet?

No, I attended Coronation and had to clean my basement enough for the Sprinkler Inspectors to get in. I'll be decorating next weekend while my wife is out of town at the Viking Longship.

I have no decorations to put out/up.

If I find some I don't remember having, I might do some internal decorating.

We don't really decorate much, as we live on a country highway, and trick or treaters would die if they came to our house! That being said, we do have some fall type decorations up (pumpkins and the like), especially for the kids. We also picked up their costumes this weekend. The 10yo is going as Wonder Woman (more modern interpretation, not Lynda Carter interpretation!), while the 7yo is going as a little devil, complete with horns and a tail!  ::D:

Nope.  Being in full production mode at a play kills creativity on the weekends.  Plus we will be performing Halloween weekend and not at home, so no incentive to decorate and not enjoy it.  My wife, however, has all her decoration stuff to transform her office and started wearing her spider earrings yesterday.

We celebrate a little... And no. Other than the random colour-shifting LED strip I've left up in the giant upstairs window at the front of our house... Come Hallowe'en night, I close the white curtains behind them, then turn them on. Means we have a giant colour-shifting window to let people know that we're celebrating Hallowe'en. ::D: But we don't have a lot other than that. ::(: And it doesn't generally come out until close to Hallowe'en.

October 1st and 2nd's Question:

Suppose you are in a coffee shop hanging out with middle school version of you (or a clone with the stolen memories of yourself at that time, cast into the future to prevent a paradox).

If you were talking about who you were going to be as a person when you grew up versus who you are right now, how different is what you both want?

Middle school me might be a bit disappointed that I didn't go into any kind of pure science. He probably would have liked it if I went into Ichthyology, and then went down to collect specimens in the Amazon Rainforest with TaleSpinner.

On the other hand, middle school me might actually be pleased that I play some of the same games he did. He might even be pleasantly surprised by the miniatures hobby, because he had only painted 3-4 minis by then, and wasn't super-thrilled with the results. He would probably also be willing to entertain software engineering as an acceptable alternate career path.

No decorations so far. I'm not sure what will come of Halloween this year, as I moved into a mid-sized apartment building in May, and there are not that many children here. (In past years, I always gave out candy.)

Is that a creative way of gobbling down halloween candy?
