Leader of the Rats
Can you tell us anything more about the Layer Up painting learn to paint kit? What paints are included for example.
Reaperbryan
Can you tell us anything more about the Layer Up painting learn to paint kit? What paints are included for example. Paints, figures, Brushes, and the book itself are all included. These images are the first 2 pages of the book.
MissMelons
Yes...yes...that'll do nicely. I would like to go home with one of those, yes....
hungerfan
Estimated cost of the kit? Same as the first? I am pretty sure that I will need to budget for 2 of those.
Grayfax
Listed at $39.99. That looks like a really good deal and I may make several gifts out of those! Smart to release them in November... Edit: Price hike... $39.95 -> $39.99 (because of my typo, not because of Reaper) Edited September 30, 2016 by Grayfax
LittleBluberry
Hmmm... I actually have over half of the paints in that kit, plus all the minis. I'll have to feel around and see if there's enough interest to get it primarily for the instructions. For anyone new-ish to painting it looks like another awesome kit, though.
hungerfan
Yeah I am sure I have most of the stuff in it but whatevah. Buy it...go through instructions using your own paints/minis. Then gift the set.
Harrek
And we don't know if it will be at ReaperCon yet. Looking forward. The first was very well done.

Artists Wren Posted October 1, 2016 Artists Share Posted October 1, 2016 I didn't realize news was out on the kit, yay! This one was a lot of work to try to explain the concepts clearly and provide examples, and I'm really hoping that people will get a lot out of it. I tested it on a number of people, including people who know very little about miniature painting, and I think that helped me hone in on problem areas and get them improved. I'm very grateful to those folks for their assistance. (That pretty layout and graphics and such you see up there is all Reaper, I send words and photos along, and then they make everything look so nice, as with the first one!)
JackMann
I don't know if it was your idea or Reaper's, but I think it's pretty cool that one of the example models is a black dude. Too often, "Learn to paint skin" tends to mean "learn to paint white dudes."
MissMelons
I did have a nice giggle at the ebony skin paint. I'm curious what I can do with it.

Willing guinea pigs are a pearl beyond price. The kit looks like an excellent introduction. And like JackMann, I'm glad to see it going beyond caucasian skin tones.
