I was given an old Ral Partha set (Dueling Dragons by Bob Charrette and Julie Guthrie) and I'm worried it might have lead rot. Can someone more experienced tell me if this looks like lead rot to them?

That looks like the pitting that can occur from thermal problems during casting (and not a terrible amount of it). Either the metal being too hot or too cool or the mold not being pre-heated enough. I can't remember which. Lead rot that I've seen takes a matte gray appearance, is brittle and breaks away into powder. Or I could be thinking of something else entirely. Anyone else have a better guess?

you can get a chemical reaction (I'm sure it has a name, but I'm an art major)

You just made me laugh out loud - thank you, i needed that!

There really needs to be a lot more science and engineering taught in art schools. Almost makes me wish I went to State.

If I say its lead rot  (and give you my mailing address will you send them to me for disposal??)

That does not look like lead rot too me.  I have a number of older minis and i would agree that just looks like aging.

to chime in on the original question, dissimilar metals touching can corrode one of them at a greater rate than the other.  one basically works as a sacrificial anode to protect the other.  there are various books on the subject along with the mathematical formulae involved.

Hi! I was just wondering if there were any reaper dragon minis close in size to the young green wizkids dragon? or any other dragons of any types that's not wizkids that's similar in size? I'm wanting to run an encounter with two dragons of the same size and would prefer not to double up on minis, and would love to expand my dragon collection to other companies than wizkids.

"Over 1800 Jungle Themed Terrain Pieces Made for the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game, and Others Like it."

"This Kickstarter marks the release of our two newest books in the Dungeon Craft series "Fallen Kingdom & Jungles of Dread". Both books have nearly 1,000 jungle-themed pieces in them, which allow DMs to build custom interactive maps in a brand new setting. As of this Kickstarter, we will have launched 6 total campaigns, and have brought numerous products to the market. Additionally, we're excited to announce jungle-themed versions of past projects will be brought back for this Kickstarter! This includes the Deck of Stories/ NPC Cards, Dungeon Notes, and new models from our miniature line Counterspell Miniatures. We'll also be unveiling new and exciting products like our jungle DM screen and our Crocodile Jasper D20."

1985 Games have launched their third Dungeon Craft Kickstarter.  The last two have been fantastic and I absolutely love them.  While I enjoy painting minis, I'm not a fan of building terrain or scatter, especially since it tends to block sight or get knocked over and is a pain to store.  These 2D terrain pieces are a great compromise. I haven't seen anyone else talk about Dungeon Craft on the forums, but I definitely advocate!  If you missed their last two KS there's opportunity to get those as well.  And for the first time they're offering some original minis as Add-Ons.

      Hi All!
As I've been going through my Bones 5 goodies, I started wondering.  I've never owned such a massive quantity of unpainted miniatures all at the same time.
What's the best way to store them?  I don't want to throw them all in one big box - I won't ever find anything there when needed.  Assembling anything that is not being worked on at the moment is a bad idea.  So, keeping the unassembled in their little bags then?  Maybe try to categorize them - orcs go here, elves go there?

How do you store your unpainted minis?

Hi all. Was hoping you could help me find a mini.

I have a player in an upcoming game of D&D who wants a flying monkey as a familiar.

I'm having trouble finding a good option. I'm surprised how few options there are.

I'm looking for one with feathered wings as opposed to bat wings. And something without a fez. Minimal clothing is okay (a vest or some bracelets) but in general looking for something that's more like a wild animal.

STLs are okay. But physical is better.

      Thanks in advance!

I cant find any of my old threads. I used to have links in my signature which doesnt display in mobile, and I'm rarely on a computer and its awkward on a phone (like I havent been able to make it work, but I'm assuming its possible).
I can't search just my topics with an empty search term. So how am I supposed to find things now? How does everybody else do it.
I think a modern can lock this file. I've gotten  desktop working better since I posted.
