77190: No Peace in Death (Nethyrmaul)

When I first saw Nethyrmaul I had one immediate thought….and when I saw her being painted up as an evil dragon left and right, it solidified the idea….that my Nethyrmaul was a good dragon. One who mentored and aided knights, defended towns within her territory, and was noble and honorable.

Until one day, outnumbered, she fell in battle against a Necromancer and his unholy beasts and undead. Torn open by the fangs and weapons of his legion, and dying, her spirit was captured and imprisoned.

Forced under the Necromancer’s will, her mangled corpse lurched to its feet, her eyes blazing a unholy green instead of their gentle blue. Her mind, chained and helpless, was forced to endure and witness as she was turned against the Knights she called friends, and against the villages she had once protected.

 

This diorama helped me try my first attempts at NMM and OSL, though I am not sure how well I succeeded at them.

This makes me happy that you will be bringing a Nethy too. My daughter is going to love it. Not going to show this to her though.  She is very happy with her base additions that she added. :)

I never thought I'd feel bad for an undead dragon!  The backstory is great.  It makes me wonder if she eventually frees herself from the necromancer's control and/or is brought back to life.  So many stories in my head that want endings! Very nice OSL!  Sorry, I've nothing on the NMM as I really don't know know enough to give you any useful feedback.  She looks great though and her basing is also really nice!  I hope she gets to eat the pesky necromancer one day!

i always had hte idea that an adventuring party that she m ay have helped in the past is now tasked with finding her and bringing her mercy and the peace of death...and bringing the necromancer to justice

 

have to really get your PC players to like her though, make her a helpful guide earlier in the campaign

I agree, although I was thinking more along the lines of a campaign where the PC's never meet or know of her until much later for the "big reveal." and only to find out she's been guiding them all along in order to bring about her final end and turn the necromander into a toilet plunger in an orc barrow. XD

So gruesome. The story behind it is inspired. It's the first time I've ever heard of an undead good dragon. Amazing concept and even better execution with your paintbrush. I really love her eyes.

I could see a big battle, the necromancer losing control and in one final moment of selfcontrol she will kill him before succumbing herself .
