So, who is excited about ReaperCon 2017

Logically I know I'll be fine, I've met OneBoot and ReaperBryan at PaizoCon and I'm only mildly introverted so no fears of panicking in crowds, etc.  It's probably more an issue of finally going after so many years of wanting to go.

I also went crazy and scheduled two classes per day.  I will likely have some regrets about this, but I would probably also regret not doing them.  I'll have to check the gaming schedule and see if anything will fit any more.

I took 6 classes last year, (none sunday)

Cause that was what I went to the con for!!!!

Still found plenty of time to socialize!

I did miss the factory tour, but that was buglips fault....

(Actually, it was the bus companies fault....)

It took us three years to finally take the tour. Every year we would want to but scheduling would always conflict with it. Last year we finally decided that we weren't going to miss out on it again. So, we made time for it and it was really cool.

Would there be any value to putting my name in for teaching a Miniatures Photography class* at this late date? I'll be at the convention anyway and could be available if a slot opens. Just wondering whether it would make sense to fill out the form now.

* I've also taught beginning freehand and painting 101 at Genghis Con.

Will you be providing crumpled grey tshirts or should attendees bring their own? ::P:

I usually bring gray paper, but I can look for a t-shirt if you like. Anything to make the students happy.

So far, I have stood firm with only 5 classes, and all of Friday free to tour, socialize, shop, or whatever.

My resolve has wavered many times, but so far so good.

Just 12 short weeks to go.

I'll be fine.

This is a good decision.

Friday afternoon is the day I'm doing the ReaperTour... I hope... if they leave after 2:15 pm or so... (cause Sophie Says!)

Oh no, Doug's going to smack me. I was joking about the shirt.

Re: the exchange that began here with Doug's post:

Where he was being helpful because I was whining that my colours weren't showing properly....and in my tired grumpy snarkiness, I tossed a crumpled grey t-shirt into my pictures......and it helped. But as Doug would tell you, for small scale minis, the texture of the fabric is likely to mess with your camera's focus. You're better off with grey paper.

Oh, heck no. ::D: (And your answer covered the issue fairly comprehensively.)

While shirts do cause problems, with care the gray can still be easier to use than many other backgrounds. But if you have access to a smooth gray paper, cardstock, vinyl, or the like, it will probably work better than cloth.

I will take that to mean that you don't believe in violence, and not to mean that you have not wanted to smack me at any point. Sometimes even I want to smack me. ::P:

Wait, 12 weeks?! Panic levels approaching "ludicrous".

Must paint faster.

That's ok.  There's a painting speed for that... just don't miss it and end up in Plaid...
